I picked these up last week to experiment with. They didn't really cost much at all and they work
I can program the Cyclone with my own custom parameters or use one of the 20 saved Novak sets to use as profile 4 on the Cyclone. Too bad I...

Wait, you have a computer with a serial port and diskette drive?
I'm a Mac guy in all honesty, but yes I do. I found it in the garbage and put XP on it  I use it mainly for the old school Toyota Electronic Parts Catalog Software...
In my build process, I now have 2 different ESCs. One is a novak 410-m5 and the other is a Traxxus xl-5 which is the yellow one. I know that the Novak has been around for a while, and that the Traxxus has several programmable modes.
Is there a...

Todd- if I knew what I had, I would certainly be much better off. The best I can find is a marking on the motor that says ROAR 91.
should be a 27t stock motor.
I have a pretty good collection of old Novak electronics and have seen just about everything out there but I have never seen or heard of this model before. It seems to be an early 1X chassis and the person I got it from said he purchased it in 1984....

Asso_man! thanks for posting the picture and a quick question, what material is that heat sink made out of aluminum? Also do you happen to have the dimensions of it? :D I did call Novak and they were very nice but they had no clue what this was....
Hey guys, what can you tell me about this one from Novak?
In the pictures, look for a short bit of wire that is located at the receiver and switch output area. There are two wires, both red, soldered together.
I don't think that part was...

Out of the bag the 4 came with unterminated motor/battery wires. Deans plugs and a capacitor suggest it was used in an adults race car. The two small red wires are for the controllers BEC, connected together for up to 6 cell, unconnected for 7 and...
I am pulling my hair out with this thing...It has a neutral and speed adjustment...Novak Solid state speed control is what it says on the case...I can not get the throttle to work at all...I have steering...The only time the motor will spin is when...
So I got this very nice looking Novak T4 ESC. Looks barely used. It works, sort of, but not real well. I popped it open to clean it up, and I found these terminals, or tabs, or whatever you want to call them, right in between the red battery...

Perfect! Thanks everyone. This is great knowledge. And as they used to say, knowing is half the battle!
I purchased a RC10 graphite buggy last week, the previous owner cut the receiver plug off the esc. I want to fix the esc to see if it works, but not sure about the wires. There are two black wires and one red wire. Does anyone know which wires are...

The negative and signal technically wouldn't hurt anything if reversed it just wouldn't work. The red is the important one
Looking at the Novak timeline it looks like a NESC-2 or a 1x from 1985 but there isn't a model name on it. I also have a NESC-1 in my box art rc10 that doesn't have a name on it either... what were the deal with these? Does anyone know definitely...

Good question. The 2 was better than the original 4 but the 2 was discontinued and I didn't want them to replace it with an inferior 4 - The T4 was brand new and I must not of known about it
