Re: 1/8 eBUGGIES, need opinions
Glad to hear the Hobbywing setup is working well.
I have one NIP at my store that i want to throw into my 1/8th scale. I've had an Ofna Hyper7 for years and just recently did the RCProductDesigns conversion on it. Now I just need money for the Battery and the ESC setup.
I decided to go for the single battery and just run 3s lipo. Still to be determined what ones to get, but mainly this will be a basher.
I had been testing a prototype car that was based on an 1/8th scale but used 1/10th scale power. I decided to try it in my Ofna, but some things still have to be sorted out. Thats what you see in the pic, but my goal is to run 1/8th scale power shortly.
Pic!

my buddy just picked up a lx1 roller. he'll be running the same motor/esc combo as i am.
i'm running sensored.
i still can't get over how tough these things are.
after 20+ minutes of solid running (4s 4500 single pack) at the track last night the motor was warm but not to hot to hold and the esc was barely warm.
i forgot my temp gun, next time i'll get exact temps and post them.

Here's mine, Losi 8ight 2.0E Castle ESC and 2200kv motor, IP 5400 4s battery. It's pretty darn fast, and with castle's programming card I got it tuned to be drivable on the dirt.

Anyone convert an 8th scale SC truck? I don't think AE makes an E SC do they?
Re: 1/8 eBUGGIES, need opinions
I've had my RC8Be FT for about 8 months now... still LOVING it.
So far I've had to straighten the front dogbones (they were starting to vibrate the front wheels) and thats it. I've had some pretty spectacular crashes as this is my first step from a 91 Team Car with a standard 540 motor on NiMh batteries

I've been working on a electric conversion for my Z-Car for quite sometime now. Things always seem to keep coming up. I'm confident that I'll finish it up in a couple of months. I'm leaning towards HW150amp esc.

z car? as in zd racing (mrc)?
lots of associated influence on that car from the looks of it.

Z-Car as in Zanma..which is the same company as SH. Its a pretty innovative car and its quite different than an rc8. Its also sold under the LRP name in Europe.kaiser wrote:z car? as in zd racing (mrc)?

Re: 1/8 eBUGGIES, need opinions
well i took it racing for the first time.....never made it to the first heat.
sensor bolts backed out and the bolts and sensor dropped into the rotor.
i tried the esc with another motor, no go.

now i'm going to have to send it all to china for warranty. in the meantime i'm trying to get a tekin rx8 system together for this weekend.
i must say though that during practice i was the fastest car out there. 2250kv is insane. i liked it though, it was insane when you wanted it to be and contolable when you needed it to be. too bad it crapped out.

Man that really stinks. I know thats they bad thing about ordering Hobbywing stuff...you have to send it back overseas for warranty stuff. From reading many many forums, it seems problems like the one you had are few and far in between. Hopefully it doesnt take too long to get yours back.
