Masami 4+2 Chassis Replica TEASER~
Hey guys, thanks to many of the amazing forum members here my '89 Masami Yokomo YZ10 Worlds replica is coming along well. I just got my 4+2 chassis that I had cut out - here's a teaser of how some of the project is coming along.

Re: Masami 4+2 Chassis Replica TEASER~
I traced the chassis based on the RCCA article and a scan I did of an original chassis for dimensions. I had the chassis and battery mounts cnc milled. I goofed a bit on the dimensions so I may have to get another set cut (I'm 0.75mm out on the steering holes and I missed one of the battery standoffs by a good few mm's). One of the turbo helpful members on this forum mentioned he had some of the Yokomo style matt-non weaved CF so I may fix my mistakes and get this re-cut to the exact dimensions so it looks just like the Masami '89 Worlds car. The mistakes are close enough to being good that a little dremel work will make this 4+2 completely useable and perfect to the naked eye. Here is a pic of what I did to trace Masami's chassis... I had both sides scanned and flipped back and forth until I was able to copy the entire chassis.GJW wrote:who drew up the chassis?

Im sure I am not the only one here, but I'd love to drive a car built to the same specs of Masami's Dogfighter. I even have new 1700sce cells to go along with this chassis set up!

Is this based on the green YZ-10 with the pink wheels? I always adored that car back in the day. I would love to see this build completed. Can we see some progress?

Yes!! I would love to see other views of this chassis. Although, if yours is different at the section you circled it must be a bit different than the '89 Masami one because that section of the chassis can be seen clearly on Masami's car and it's matched perfect to the angles mine has as can be seen in the attached pic.crusaderlyf wrote:I have captured the chassis by someone years ago,do you need the chassis bottom view?
Please post any pics you have of a 4+2 chassis!
Thanks,

Re: Masami 4+2 Chassis Replica TEASER~
Updates coming soon - I've just been so busy that I haven't gotten much done with this sucker. I have ALL of the parts I need now except the 834 wing buttons but they are so hard to find that I'm probably going to have to find something else temporarily to use until I can find an original set one day.TamiyaTony wrote:Is this based on the green YZ-10 with the pink wheels?
