My Frog with a new dual front shock set up!!!!

Post by Mad Racer »

Just finished this Frog mod.

Wanting to try something different than my other Frog. So i bought some CRP vintage Frog front shock towers .

I than had to decide what shocks to use. I couldn't use modern shocks of a 10th buggy as they just hit alloy uprights. So i looked at what CRP used back than and they were long skinny shocks.

I took the chance on some Losi Mini T shocks from r/c damper. They fitted up well with a few mods to get them mounted up right.

I like the looks of it.

Comments welcome.

Looks like a functional mod, Mark. It doesn't hurt that the shocks/springs match your color scheme to boot. 8)

There used to be a seller who sold all kinds of aluminum pieces for the Frog and the like on eBay but I'm not sure if they still do. They were selling some nice anodized shock towers that used 1/10 shocks which were pretty cool. The CRP ones are a way more period correct looking setup though.

they still sell them. They post them up once or twice per month. They start with CRA part numbers. If you search for that they will show up. I've been thinking of getting some of their stuff for my Blackfoot.

That sounds like who I'm talking about. I bought a few of the parts from him and the hardware was put loosely in the same bag as the anodized pieces thus ruining their finish. I explained to him how it wasn't a good idea to do that and suggested putting the hardware into its own bag. I added how since he was in Canada that most of his products would be going to other countries which meant the need for better packaging. It would be interesting to see if separates the hardware now or not.
