What paint schemes do I go for?

Post by peetbee »

I will get round to posting some pics of my RC10s (gold pan to B4), but I'm currently getting some shells sorted for them and have a little dilemma!

Apart from one runner, the rest will be shelfers (not queens as they are unlikely to be restored as meticulously as some of the others on the forum!) but they will be getting new shells as the current ones are rough/missing.

So.... what paint schemes do I go for? All input appreciated :)

i like to paint all my cars in my personal scheme. i've been slowly getting them all done, with one varitation. i always liked the cliff lett cow print and have incorperated that in the ae cars only, everything else get's polka dots. i just can't bring myself to put cow print on a losi. lol the only non ae car with cow print is my m03 mini cooper with a cow print roof.

I didn't vote
Box arts and other drivers design can be nice but I rather like to make my own custom design.
And it is different for each car: based on the other colours in the build, my technical limitations and progress,... but most important the body's design lines.
What I really don't like are designs which almost hide the bodylines.

personally I like different things so don't really have a scheme of my own. Each one I do is different and kinda goes along with Mr.Ed and his ideas on it. I don't like it when a paintjob washes out the bodylines completely. Anyway, you asked for it so there is my $.02

Thanks for the feedback!
It's food for thought, I didn't expect that boxart would be so 'unpopular' tho!

I vote all of the above. I do some box art, some prominent drivers that you like or just like how the car looks, and some your own!

For some reason I like box art on Tamiya, but custom on about anything else. 8)

I have to agree with slotcarrod here, I am a fan of all three. Paint what ever you want because in the end it's your shelf that it will be sitting on..... :D
