Re: Super Shot Re re Out !!!!!
the best part about tamiya re-releases is being able to find those elusive parts for a restoration without having to take out a second mortgage

Re: Super Shot Re re Out !!!!!
Tamiya's been flogging the re-re dog for years now, so anyone stuck with a pile of vintage parts should've seen it coming...

I kind of wish AE would do a re-re of the RC10 at some point.

Re: Super Shot Re re Out !!!!!
The best part of the re-re's is that the newer parts won't be as brittle as the old ones. My friend and I have been breaking Hornet and Frog parts like crazy and not even when doing anything rough with them. Running off the end of the driveway into the street, which is going off of about a 2" bump, cracked an old Hornet chassis. I hope they re-re the Fox. I loved mine and would rather just buy a new one than try to find the rest of the pieces and then put it back together again.

That would be great! I would love to build a new metal rc10 and go race it.RC104ever wrote:I kind of wish AE would do a re-re of the RC10 at some point.

Re: Super Shot Re re Out !!!!!
Parts for the re-re don't hang out long. Look at the Boomerang they re-re'd. Bumpers, control arms and some chassis pieces are gone now and one's you find cost just as much as old parts.tamiyadan wrote:the best part about tamiya re-releases is being able to throw out 25+ years of parts, since they are worthless now.
The other funny thing is all those sellers dumping there parts and projects on ebay just 'cause their bringing back a classic model again is foolish. Only limited runs of parts will be made. I'll still have all my "vintage" parts a year from now when everyone else will be wishing they never got rid of it because the re-re parts availability dried up. I hate adding re-re junk to a original classic anyway, just my opinion
If things seem under control, you are just not going fast enough.

Re: Super Shot Re re Out !!!!!
I still have my 30+ years worth of Tamiya parts . When the Frog was re-re I got one for Christmas, but I still kept the original one I got when I was 9.
Tamiya found a way to make money, without having to do much extra work. There is a market for these buggys(rides ), and who knows in 30 years there might be someone looking for a Re-re Super Shot like they had when they were a kid.
