new here. Just dug out my RC10Lso

Post by durb69 »

As far as i can tell this is an RC10L but i have seen a few say its an HPI???? Not sure but i polished it up and bought some new wheels for it as well as gears. It needs some more work but at least its back up and running. I dont have any before pictures but lets just say it was not pretty at all!!!

I just bought a nissan gtp zx-turbo body from McAllister that i am looking forward to painting up like the #83

thanks for looking,
An old RC coming back to life!

Welcome to the board! Looks like a 10LSS to me, not much HPI on it that I can see.

So what is it that makes it a 10lss? If you don't mind schooling me a little here. I've been researching a lot this last week. Before last Sunday I thought my car was made by parma lol. Some guy at a local hobby store told me that's what it was. 2 years later now I decided to research it and found out a whole bunch of cool stuff. But I am still learning. Next on the list is a new motor probably as well as new servo parts for the steering. I really want a set of sees rims for it to go with the #83 body!

Kevin, yes I actually made it myself a few years ago. I am a machinist by trade I whipped it up one day a few years ago because I was running the car on pavement and kept spinning gears due to tiny rocks and dirt getting in the open gears. Im thinking about making one on the CNC that fully encloses the gears to keep them nice and clean! Glad you like it. It runs around the front as well to protect. The pinion gear.

Hey kevin, I see you are from upstate ny man. Any where near Syracuse? Been thinking about taking my car someplace to run it. The only place I know of is Walt's hobby in Syracuse. Any of you guys race there? And I will take some close up shots of that gear cover. I can make more just like that one if any one is interested. I also want to make one out of black ultem plastic that covers the gears entirely. Maybe make it quick release for gear adjustments and such?

You should make some of those gear covers up I would buy 2 if the price was right. I have a Clean 10Lc and a new built 10L3 TC and about 12L's I love these pan cars. yours is very cool. I have a set of See's BBS wheels on my 10Lc ASA Camaro I just need to paint her up.

What do you guys think would be a reasonable price? I might make a few like the one in the pictures if you guys are interested. Also check out my sweet ebay score! Its on its way! Image
I took my kids up to Walt's hobby in Syracuse ny friday and we took the Lso for some laps. It was a fun time.

Gear Guard version #1

Post by durb69 »

OK guys i decided to make a CNC version of the aluminum guard because i really like the look of it. I still plan on making another type of cover at some point. This was my first one and is subject to slight changes in the final design.
