New member, potential vendor, and RC10 fan!
Greetings All! My name is Chris Cazan (Toyranosaur on the Boards,) and I've been a collector/builder/partsmaker for 20+ years. I do not own an RC10 buggy (!), but have a sweet pink ano'd OG GT, an original 10T, and a Beetle-ised T4 in my collection of about 90 vehicles. I joined a long time ago, and was inactive, but now a couple things have transpired to get me into your fine forum: One is, I am gonna get a mint RC10 Gold Tub eventually if it kills me (Can't really say I have a definitive RC collection with no RC10, now can I?) Another is, a chap named Doug Johnson said he posted here (Though I can't see it yet, being a 'Noob' here...
) about my making some parts: Having scanned around a bit, I think we may be able to help each other out, meaning the members here & my company. I own Rogue Element Components, a 1-man machine shop that does odd/vintage/collector parts for old RC's. My page at http://www.rogueelementcomponents.com explains how I do things, and I'm looking for a 'new' old RC to focus on doing desirable parts for. I'm thinking RC10? Anyway, just wanted to barge in & introduce myself and perhaps find out what you'd all like to see, and get a suggestion on where to post stuff etc. Forgive me if this is the wrong place, please feel free to move it/yell at me if necessary! Once this is figured out I'll give more info & take requests on bits, etc. Thanks for reading, and I hope we can all help each other enjoy our hobby even more! Cheers, Chris REC

Welcome!
You have good taste. Nice r/cs and I seriously love to use oil lamps.
You just can't beat natural flame lighting to get the creative juices flowing.
Post up! You clearly have plenty of projects to post about. Get B/S/T access and then the real action can start(even though I never go there). Looks like you have plenty to offer.

Chris welcome to the site. You and I have spoke previously at the Scale4x4 site. You may remember me from the picture below. No I never finshed them
. I did finish the rear axle and it works great, but never got around to finishing the front. Anyway, good to see you again and I am sure your machining skills will be welcome here.

Howdy Shodog and others! I may not remember everone off the top o'me head, but we'll get re-aquainted. I just got done spending most of the last 2 years doing Sand Scorcher bits for the most part, and am looking to start on another car- I have some wheel dimensions drawn for the RC10, and have been asked to do Technacraft-style wheels for 'em, which is doable indeed. I'm small, so don't need to make huge batches of stuff for it to be worthwhile: I do this for a living, not a hobby, and though my shop is in the garage I have a 100K Haas VF-3 vertical CNC mill shoehorned in there, so have a unique niche. Most 1-man garage outfits don't have this calibre of equipment, and bigger outfits ain't gonna do small runs of parts for 30-year-old toy cars, so I kinda own my little slice of R/C manufacturing.
Thanks for the kind welcome, especially after my ham-fisted intro!
The way I see it, R/C guys are all about tinkering, modifying, and parts, so quality sellers should not be berated for offering same unless they're spamming outright but some boards freak nonetheless......
I guess I'll be eligible for the BST in 25 posts or so? I'll put up some pics of past projects/vehicles for showoff purposes, that should qualify me soon-ish, then we can discuss pieces & cars & such. I'll be looking to do some buying/swapping for a mint original RC10, probably a 6-gear Gold Tub, either NIB (Scary!) or a few parts at a time, so anyone with swappables get ready!
I look forward to spending some of my limited time here for sure! Cheers, Chris REC

Hey there, welcome to the board! I would love to see what you can dream up to help me spend more money on stuff I probably don't need
Seriously though, loving the two beetle rcs you posted as I'm a big VW enthusiast too
Looking forward to hearing more on your future plans

Re: New member, potential vendor, and RC10 fan!
welcome chris. i am sporting a s.c.a.b. you made on my s2. i was hoping to see you make some more of them so i could have one on my durango prototype and my rc10's.
on rc10's a lot of us are using ab4 top shaft and slipper in our transmissions. and fitting a rpm rc10b4 gear cover is as simple as drilling one hole in the motor plate. if you still made the s.c.a.b. i know of a few vintage rc10s and 10t's that would be sporting them.

What's a s.c.a.b.?
Chris, sent you a pm with some links to posts that will get you thinking about where the demand for parts tends to fall among us crazy builders/tinkerers.
