Just got this off of eBay! My first time vintage ride!!!
Hey , I'm Domenick. New to this Site.
So, i obtained an 1/10 scale RC10L Pan Car. For 51 bucks off of eBay. Its pretty clean for its age(19 years). It came with an Airtronics Avenger AV2R Radio, and a Futaba FP-R112JE reciever. It also came with a Futaba MC 210CB ESC. I had a 6 cell 7.2V batery already for it. It also came with a Speed Gems2 motor.
I haven't been able to run it because it needs a separate battery pack for the reciever. So i ordered that 5 bucks! lol. When i had a Tamiya TT-01, it had a battery wire from the ESC to the reciever. An it just ran from the main battery.
So here it is!
Now im not trying to race as a "Pro". But i do want some speed. Something around 45mph.

That speed control and receiver are made to work without a seperate battery, if you chose to run one make sure you remove the red wire from the esc going into the receiver or there will be trouble

Also, in my experience anyway, you will not get a futaba receiver to work with an airtronics transmitter. It would be easiest to just grab a futaba transmitter and make sure your crystals match.

I got them working, they both have matching crystals. I did have issues where as the 2 screws on the ESC had to be adjusted. I may put an updated ESC/RAdio in this thing. One thing for sure, things were simple way back when !!!! lol....
If i wanted to make this a slight speed demon.... Tops maybe 45mph, what could i do? (im a former Nitro/Gasoline RCer lol)

Oh an yes, i tried it orginally the way you said. But you do need another pack for that reciever. Or nothing will work. No steering, nada!!!
But i really appreciate your input!!!
