Ok, Im off to the LHS to see what I can source locally for this build, also....
I was curious as to the differences in dimensions and geometry in the rc10 vs the b4 after the klien conversion.
I was looking through both OIN threads and was wondering after doing the conversion, and adding 2.2s, how similar can the pan be to the b4?
Sorry if this question is redundant, but I didnt find anything in those threads regarding performance comparisons etc.

Jared, most of our LHS arent gonna have much for us vintage racer nuts. I run my goldpan occasionally, but always have it with me at the local tracks...I've been running my ::GASP:: JRX lately

Let me know what local tracks you run at, maybe we can meet up and drum up some more vintage cars for a full class.

Yeah I figured I wasnt going to find much in the way of NOS parts, but it was worth a shot. I always try to support my LHS, and in this case they did have a few odds and ends to get me goin.
I primarily run at WCRC which is a top notch facility here in La Mirada CA. They are the current venue for the Reedy Race of Champions and there always seems to be world class drivers there so its very humbling.
I have been running stock buggy for the past few months, and after discovering this website I needed to start a OIN build ASAP
Although my initial goal is a OIN racer, I also plan on building a shelf queen from the ce I got when I was a kid and I would love to try a vintage class with a bone stock rc10, let me know if you are local!
I can see how this addiciton could get out of hand very easily

Sadly the donor truck I had access to turns out to be a T3. What if anything should I pillage off this thing, shocks, turnbuckles, carriers, anything?
I'm also looking at nabbing a rc10t off CL for $50. I think that considering the price of some of these individual discontinued parts I might just go ahead a get some "parts cars" when possible.

Yep, Yorba Linda/Anahiem Hills. I race mainly at Pegasus, I just love outdoor tracks. I hit the indoor guys mostly when the JBRL comes around, but I've run @ WC a few times outside the JBRL. I've build a OIN CE racer that is ready to roll at any track, and am in the process of building an RPM 91 Worlds suspension car, just need to get the chassis cleaned up/powder coated.

Let me know when your at the track, I will try to bring the vintage by and take some laps with ya. It will get you hooked even more as you keep up with/pass current cars

I might just go ahead a get some "parts cars" when possible.

That sounds great bro, I would love to meet up sometime and run some laps and get some advice on setups for my OIN build. I have never been to Pegasus simply because I'm hooked on the surface and the atmosphere at WCRC. I really cant say enough about the crew there and the layouts/clay are always on point.

Scored a super clean truck on CL, I couldnt believe how cheap I got this thing for, even had a like new mid nineties novak and 4 brushed motors.
Time to start dismembering her!

I saw that one, great grab. Find a black buggy nose plate and swap the buggy parts on there, toss it on a track quick!

DANG! still waiting on my arms to arrive but I had a question regarding the 10t noseplate. Are most of you just cutting the plate down and tapping the inner holes for the shorter wheelbase? or are you running the outer holes for the longer truck wheel base?

My 10T nose plate already had the threads tapped for both holes for the short(buggy) wheel base, which I run.

Strange, huh oh well mine inner holes are tapped now BTW did you have to cut or notch the nose plate to expose the servo mounting hole? Just makin sure before I grind this thing up

Most people cut it, but I got away with just drilling a hole for the servo.

OK, I am a noob. I ordered the carbonworks word kit thinking it would work on the truck bulkhead. DOH!
Well I will have it for a future build, no big whoop.
Made some progress when I got home from work today, cut down the nose plate, tapped the 3 new holes. Added the A&L steering (thanks Daryl, great meeting you and talking old school) and threw on the front arms.
I going to re- read the OIN thread again for suggestions on the carbon front towers.
