I saw this on Ebay and it was done nicely and since I'm into gas I thought it might make a nice addition.
Whoever had it once had a motor in it but the ball diff kept getting loose by just spinning the opposite tire I found 9 tiny diff balls, should only have 8 it was jammed up it there I had to punch it out. Works perfect now.
Came with no radio, engine or pipe, just the truck. I got one off ebay O.S .12 TZ 5 port turbo, said ran only 1/2 gallon. I bought the Rd Logic Turbo 2 pipe from their site.

Thanks guys! Yeah I don't know to much about that era, most of my collection was based on working the LHS in early to mid 90's. I had to do research. I found that this was the hot motor back then comparing to say old CZR was rated at .43hp and CZ12Z .63hp and this thing puts out 1.62hp.

those TZ's put out like .60 until they got over 36,000 then they jumped to full wood
We ran some 3 port Novarossi's that put out 1.75-2.0 at 46,000-49,000rpm, but they were a nice linear power all the way through....anyway great truck, that motor just brought up some old memories.
The only issues the locals had with this truck was the steering would pop out from under the brace. There were alot of 'thru bolted' steering assy. around here . A few would strip out idler gears...I think it was idler gear anyway so they went to some highdollar alloy idler. Other than that they were a good competition to the nitro hawks and rc10gt on the oval. I'm likin the paint on yours...but man that thing it too clean

Peace and professionlism.....Kabunga signing off!!!
As soon as I bought this truck, this came up on Ebay and well I won! and got it cheap!! I figure why not get some spare parts, and I counted 115 NIP! I could almost build a new truck! Gotto love Ebay sometimes. Let me know if you need anything!
Thanks, That's why I bidded I saw those hard parts and it was nice to get a bunch stock parts also. If I ever decide to sell the truck the parts pile goes with it. Finally got around to mounting them.
I got 2 set of the rear hubs. One tranny brace. and one front plate. Now if I can only find that hard chassis!
ZX-R? Very nice. Back when I got my cougar (around '94-'95 I guess, the Cougar 2k made its debut just before) I used to drool over the ZX-R and ZX-S in the catalog (if I remember correctly, the R in the catalog was painted yellow while the S was white).

Good order in the shop. I like that and the collection AWESOME
My Kyosho EP Ultima RB Type-R, last time I ran it at OCRC was back around 2010-2012. I originally bought it back in Dallas, TX somewhere between 2001-2002. It currently has a Trinity P2K Pro 27T Stock brushed motor with a 22T pinion, some off brand...

Very nice car! 8)
I've only recently discovered the RB type R and was struck by how much it resembles a B3.
I've always thought of Kyosho as an innovator but they seemed to have copied a competitor's design in this instance.
That said, the RB is a...
I bought this car off ebay not too long ago for cheap. Came in really good shape considering. Cleaned her up, replaced the rear shock tower, main chassis, rear chassis plate, front bumper, rear motor guard, and put a new set of wheels on her. Threw...

Nice one! I have one too and I think it got overlooked as a pretty decent racer. Pretty solid as the only things I ever busted were the spur gear and a front shock tower. I really wish I had replaced the front tower with the carbon fiber unit,...
I have this Ultima RB Type-R chassis ready to go just wondering if anyone has one. I have 2 one New in the Box and this one I purchased from ebay a long time ago love driving 2wd drive cars.
Does anyone have one of these? If so post some pics. It looks almost like a B3.

Sorry to bump and old thread, but i just now saw the comment about the chassis being too long. I have a fix for it if someone still has these cars. I have released an 3D printable chassis with two versions. First one is stock length and second is...
I'm looking for info on this infamous car. Been racing for 25 years and just this year went to Kyosho and I love the RB5wc/sp and recently picked up a used original TypeR and would appreciate hearing from any fellow fans.
thanks

after looking at more pics that it is the stock hardware and even though I don't like it (didn't like em when I had ultimas and optimas either) I'll leave it stock and just replace a couple that look incorrect. Plenty of ti and alu bits in the...
I found this picture in the February issue of 1987 of RCCA:
ultima-proto-type.png
It looks like the front shock tower is missing and a bit of mono-shock showing?
For the lovers: there 's another proto-type picture on the forum. It was posted by...

I'm glad they went with the stand up shocks. I hate the mono shock look.
About a month ago I received an EP Ultima ST Racing Sports in a lot (see attached pics), which was in somewhat better state than the auction showed (i.e. the transmission was actually included). On top of that it included some other bits and some...

Necro'ing my own thread massively here, but I got my hands on a Kyosho catalogue for 2004, which shows that the Ultima Type-R Evolution buggy was still being sold in 2004, with all option parts used in my build except for the Evo II body available...
