Finally scored what was my first hobby grade R/C after many years. My original was ran to death then used for parts. Now that I'm older I wanted it back. I was very lucky to get this as it was sold on eBay while my phone/eBay wasn't working properly. Long story short I contacted the seller and asked if he would give my contact info to the buyer so I could inquire about buying from him. About a week later the seller contacts me and says the buyer still hasn't paid or contacted him and asked if I wanted the car. So a big thanks goes out to the seller if you are on here and also to the potential buyer. I was wondering if the buyer just stepped aside and let me have it. Either way I'm grateful to both of them.

This will be a clean up, restore as I find the parts needed to make it better looking. I did find some NIP tires. The body will most likely be TBG and the wing and decals will be sourced eventually I hope. So here she is.

Forgot to say. This car looks bad but Ive already started the cleanup, So far it looks to be barely used or used lightly. Very few scratches in the bumper and chassis. Mostly just rubbings. Arms and screw heads are in great to perfect shape, wheels don't appear to have ever been glued and aren't all scratched up around the edges. The chassis is scuffed but is very faded. I think it was cleaned using some spray that affects the anodizing at one point cause the fading is only in the exposed areas. still a good blue under the diffs.

I always thought those were cool. It's too bad 1/10 gas 4wd buggy never really caught on. I saw one of these on ebay about a year and a half ago, and thought it would be a cool electric conversion. I didn't have the cash on hand at the time... unfortunate as I think it sold for like $60...

losiman, I was thinking the same: CONVERSION!
But more serious: I got a rampage last weekend and the rear end looks pretty similar.
Romulus do you know if the diffs are the same between those cars? I think I have a front housing already so I may try to build an electric 4WD with the rampage gearcase in the rear and inferno 10 upfront...if I can find the extra diff and drive gear

I can't say for sure. I'm not a huge Kyosho person. I do remember hearing this shared a lot of parts with one of the Laser cars. I'm sure someone else will have a better answer for you on that.

The rear end of the Rampage is the same as the rear end of the GP-10 (Peugeot 405, Citroen ZX etc.), which is almost the same as the rear end of this car. The only difference between the GP-10 and the Inferno 10 is the chassis plate and the parts between the two gearboxes, and the Inferno-10 uses Lazer suspension arms while the GP-10 uses Optima Mid suspension arms.

The diffs are the same, except that the Inferno-10 had the hardened steel diff gears out-of-the-box.

I thought it looked ok in the first pic's.

It really cleaned up well though. I almost bought one of these back in the day but ended up buying a MP6.

Marawan might do the decals for that.

I'll check out the GP-10 part numbers, but if the inferno 10 parts prices are any indication... it will remain a 2WD project for sure.
Is GP-10 the full name? I can 't say I've ever heard of it before. Maybe a wide on-roader?

I know a guy who's selling a vintage Ofna Pirate 10 buggy. I've been kicking the idea around of getting it because its in excellent shape. It would be a blast to run it on the track with your inferno 10. I kinda wish 10th scale 4wd would have taken off too.

I vaguely remember those. I'm trying to think back to any racing these actually did? I subscribed to R/C car action for many years but it's hard to remember 1/10 nitro 4wd racing

You're better off buying a complete chassis or parts lot where the seller doesn't know what he has.

AFAIK, the GP-10 is the car that started what would later become the Super-10 line of cars:
GP-10 with offset transmission axle and two belts, engine in center of chassis (Ford RS200, Peugeot 405, Citroen ZX, etc.) = FW-01 (unofficial number)
GP-10 with inline transmission, no belts, engine on side (BMW, Celica, Inferno 10, etc.) = FW-02 (unofficial number)
Super-10 FW-03 and FW-04 follow (parts are mostly not compatible!)

So they're wide 1:10 cars with a 280 mm wheelbase that share their bodies with the electric Scale Car Optima/Lazer/Ultima/Outrage-based cars. Suspension parts are shared with the Optima/Lazer lineages, as are universals, shocks, etc. GP-10 specific part numbers mostly start with FD. I don't know whether the Inferno-10 has its own separate code, but knowing Kyosho it's likely some of the parts were used in other models too.

I don't think I'll buy anything: the 2WD project using the rampage rear drive train is well on its way. It could use a new ring gear, and a new drive pinion, and a slipper set-up... but I'm just using the parts I got to see if I can make something fun out it. When the drive train goes bust I can still decide how to go on, or back ;)

I see you're actually missing the motor and recoil starter. The rampage I got came with one that looks like it would go straight in.
Looking at both manuals I think these both came with the GS-11 originally but the box I got has an added sticker and paperwork for the GS-11CR.
The GS-11CR has a cylindric shaped heatsink instead of the box shaped one on the GS-11, and screws directly to the chassis.
(I think that's what you got those 3 screw holes for; between the 2 larger holes and 4 screwholes for the GS-11.)

Thanks ED I appreciate the offer. I cant say for sure if every year was the same but the one I had in '95 or so came with an O.S. 12CZR with the red recoil starter. I do have the mounts that are now in the car. They were still on the XTM motor the seller had with the car. I just forgot about them before I took the pictures.

I'm still checking ebay daily for parts and O.S. engines


(not mine but a good example of a almost all original one I found online)
