Thought I will try something a little different with r/c !!!
Thought I will try these from Hobby King.
I didn't want to spend much as it's a new learning curve. More so the plane.
The boat is dirt cheap at $40.00 with servo & brushless motor. The Esc I bough is rated higher then what is needed & is programmable with a Hobby wing card for $16.00 & thought I could use a 3s Li po I have but I will have to order one. Has carbon motor stand offs too!
The Plane came with 2.4g 3ch radio Li po battery for the plane, Charger, & I'm pretty sure a brushless motor set up as it really rips. All for $38.00.
I need to order a spare battery for the plane & battery for the boat but here are some pic's.

Neat little plane
I still have a very old powered glider that hasn't flown in years. the 2+ metre wing wasn't exactly easy to transport :-/

cool boat. duratrax has one similar, some friends of mine wanted to start a winter "snow" racing series with them, but this one is a much cheaper option. i might have to pick one up.

Mark, I'd been thinking of a foray into boats and something like that swamp buggy might be just the thing I was looking for. The pickle-fork hydroplane race boats and scarabs are cool and all but they are all quite pricy, especially if you do the required mods to bulletproof them. This is a much better idea for an entry-level boat. I'll check that one out!

Looks like they've come a long way with the air boats from when you had to build a Sterling Puddle Jumper to get one.

Can't see the servo in the picture (probably micro) but yeah, at $40 can't hardly go wrong. I haven't gotten into boats, not a lot of easily accessible bodies of water in Arizona. But the plane should pretty well in low/ no wind or a large indoor area
