AE shock rebuild help
I run these shock on my custom clod and they need a rebuild, IE leaks. shafts are fine. I dont know what generation or what not these are. Could someone lead me to a rebuild part number??
my backups are a first generation Losi set and I cant get them to react the same as these

Re: AE shock rebuild help
its the standard 6440 kit, enough to do all 4. make sure to grab some green slime too

Re: AE shock rebuild help
I just rebuilt my shocks twice now. I did the AE kit the first time. Maybe it was inexperiance, or maybe something else. I eneded up tearing the o-rings (I used green slime) pretty bad and the shocks were pretty sticky (maybe overfilled). I ordered some Acer Ultra-O rings and did another rebuild. The o-rings stayed together better during the rebuild and the shocks seem pretty good. Just my recent experiance, and maybe I just figured out how to insert the shafts better the second time.. My only other shock build was my orginal shocks about 25 years ago.
Re: AE shock rebuild help
I've always had problems with the stock red o rings.
Found some replacements for the red ones and they work great. in fact they are a little harder. No pinching or spliting, pop together first time and i have no leaks since the rebuild

Re: AE shock rebuild help
the trick with o-rings is to put a drop of oil on them and the shaft, and when you put the shaft into the shock body, wiggle it and move in a circular motion as you push it into the o-ring.
