A Stamp caster blocks?

Post by LJH »

Hello all,
I had my first failure today running my newly restored glod pan when a caster block broke. I did some looking and it looks like the car came with the 6213 15* blocks but doing more reading it looks like using the 6210 30* caster blocks have their advantages of giving more front end bite. It also looks like the 6210's are far easier to get as well. Before I order anything I just want to make sure getting the 6210's is in fact the way to go.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Jim

Which car are you running? Short arm or long arm?

I agree - 30 degree caster blocks on a stock short arm car will cause the steering knuckle to contact the lower suspension arm (resulting in severely impaired steering throw).
Stick with the 5 or 10 degree caster blocks for the short arm car.

Copy that....this would be a good reason to switch to long front arms? If I did that what would the ideal caster block to use?

Cheers,
Jim

I just took apart the broken parts and it looks like the caster blocks are in fact 15* when lined up with a protractor.

Cheers,
Jim
