Saving an RC10GT
I bought this from my cousin the other night so I could restore it and save it. It's and old black pan RC10GT with a OS CV .12 in it. It's complete except for the shocks but I can take care of that. Here are some pics of what am starting with for now.

That will be a great project, I have one that I just got as well! I can't wait to start mine! Mine will be a runner though! You going to run this one?

Thank's. I am planning on running it, The engine feels like it has good compression so I am atleast going to give it a shot.slotcarrod wrote:That will be a great project, I have one that I just got as well! I can't wait to start mine! Mine will be a runner though! You going to run this one?

Re: Saving an RC10GT
I got it tore down the last two days and soaked the chassis in water and dawn trying to get the gunk off of it and got a good bit of it. So after I got that done I tore the front and rear suspension down and got it cleaned up and re-assembled. So right now I have to get the servos back in and clean up the motor. So here are some pics of where I am at this point.

Re: Saving an RC10GT
I spent awhile yesterday putting the truck back together and there are only a few little issues that I have to fix. The first issue is while I was driving the original brake disc broke and flew apart and I didn't find out until it was going full speed towards a metal building, luckily I was able to get it to turn in time. Is the new RC10Gt brake compatible with this truck? The second issue is the motor is flaming out so I still have a bit more tuning to do. And the last issue is the fm radio, as much as I love running these old radios it was getting a ton of interference yesterday. I will get pics of threw truck once I clean it from yesterdays run.

Re: Saving an RC10GT
not a expert on yours but looking at my GT (newer blue chassis) it looks like you should be able to use the same brake.

Re: Saving an RC10GT
Cool project, glad to see another old gt coming back to life.
All of the gt1 brake parts are compatible, but gt2 parts will not work. If you are going to run it I strongly recommend a metal brake hub. Aluminum is good and still easy to get, steel or titanium is better but much harder to find these days. The stock plastic hub will strip out easily.
