Gold tub rear tires? Help....
I live in Anaheim, and was wondering if anyone in the area has any info on where I could possibly score a set of rear tires for a gold tub rc10. Ive tried ebay twice, but had one set jacked from my door step. The other was actually SIGNED FOR!!(not by me). This is my first resto project. So,instead of giving up and walking away empty handed with nothing but a bad taste for vintage rc in my mouth,i thought id give one more try by asking if theres anyone reasonably close that may have a set that that theyd be willing to part with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a member here named tire snatcher. I bet it was him.
Actually, I'd talk to your post office and find out what address to put down to have them shipped there and held for you to p/u. It sucks that you would have to take such extreme measures just to keep the Noid from grabbing your package... err I mean tires.

Re: Gold tub rear tires? Help....
That would definitely be a solution to the problem. However, ups (my prefered method of shipping) and fed ex told me that at least one delivery attempt must be made before they can hold my package(no pun intended...serously)for pick up. And the post office said the only way that i could have them hold it for pick up would be to put a vacation hold on ALL my mail. Bad info or lazy employees? I dont know......

That sucks. There are quite a few So Cal members here. I'm sure someone will be able to provide some kind of help. Good luck.

Re: Gold tub rear tires? Help....
I don't know about UPS and FedEx, but usps will hold your package. Just ask your carrier or just leave them a note in your box. Tell them you want to be notifiedinstead of having them delivered. I currently do this for my packages, and I used to work at for usps and we did it for many people. If they say they can't do it they are just lazy, ask to speak to the postmaster or call 1-800-ask-usps and file a complaint, I guarantee that take care of it. Another option is to have it delivered to you as general delivery. That is when it is shipped to the postt office in your name, then you have to go there and show I'd to get it.

Are you looking for original RC10 tires or just ones that will fit? If its the latter, you can use Tamiya 1.5" rears and stretch them a bit to get them onto the rears. Tower hobbies carries them and I've done this with my own and the work great.

Are you looking for 2.0 tires or 1.6 tires? I may have a set of 1.6 tires, used not NIP or new by any means.
Or, if you give up on vintage, let me know too

Re: Gold tub rear tires? Help....
Why not just get J C Racing wheels and modern 2.2 tires? Make it easy for yourself!
. . . you have Associated Green Slime for brains. And not even new Green Slime, but old gooped out Green Slime.

Re: Gold tub rear tires? Help....
The car is a 1984 edinger that ive had since new. Im actually trying to restore it. Although id be lightly driving it on occasion,to me,the look of the og rims and tires are the biggest attribute. The jc racing wheel and tire sets kind of look goofy to me. I have a set in white. I have driven my car with them, but i just want a set of 1.6 rears that look just as good in the sand as they do on the shelf. I was just about to have andys paint do the jammin jay video scheme too. But i now realize that this just isnt meant to be right now.I guess the money saved on vintage can buy alot of cool rc plane stuff, and wont leave a bad taste in your mouth. T jets are fun too!!!
