Jamin's Losi XX4 - Heavy Metal!
Re: Jamin's Losi XX4 - Small Update
I have a mix used xx4 that i have added we parts to. For bearings i went to fast eddys here in california, Was like $1 us a bearing. (bigger diff bearings also). all bearings felt smooth and good to me. Usually a decent ammount of parts on ebay, Full gear sets still, steering sets, spindles and so on. I still have the original style, shocks towers and arms. But used, and im guessing you are building for all new parts. Cause i have 2 rear shock bodies and shafts, Converted to the threaded shocks from the we kit.
Love the builds keep it up.

Found this bad boy the other day, so going to sell the un-stamped one off. Happy that I've got one with the logo now

Glad to be back in this hobby so many many years later. To see new things and to recollect on ALL cool vintage models!

Funny thing is Cedric sent me over a nice new front tower without the extra braces, all that hard work....License2iLL wrote:What a lovely lovely score.

They are rather rare and get snapped up quickly, i'm afraid searching ebay etc is your best bet. Sometimes the only way to get certain bits is to buy the car itself and then strip it for what you need!luckyfox74 wrote:Does any have any idea where to get a trinity motor clamp for a xx4?

I have most parts for the car now, I think the only thing I really need is another pair of Trinity out drive savers, but I am gonna go with steelies on the back until I can find them.

This is going to to be 1 very cool shelfer - do you have any progress shots of the build ? What style of rim you thinking of using ?

Re: Jamin's Losi XX4 - Small Update
Thanks, just in the process of painting the body shell of my street weapon then I'll make a start on this build. I think I'll set out and do the build with the Heavy Metal conversion first, with yellow 5 spokes rims, then convert it later to a buggy, it's a fairly small change and I can't afford to build another xx4 just yet.Cra$h wrote:This is going to to be 1 very cool shelfer - do you have any progress shots of the build ? Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll get the build started.

Re: Jamin's Losi XX4 - Small Update
This thread is actually rather lacking in content, I have a tonne of parts to build it now, a complete car in seperate parts, before I start it I'll get a photo together of it all laid out, should look cool!
I think this build is going on hold for a while now though, once I finish my Street Weapon I'll be packing all my stuff up ready for our baby that is due soon. I dont plan on getting any time to build my last 2 projects, but so long as I have all the parts it doesnt matter.
I really want to get the heavy metal shell painted up for this build, I have an original sticker sheet too. But hey ho, I have to prioritise.

Re: Jamin's Losi XX4 - Small Update
I've had a little activity with some parts for this build, the last item to arrive is the original mk1 body shell that I found on ebay and that Aaron was kind enough to send on to me, so a massive thanks to him. This version is the one without all those horrible scoops and so will go perfectly with the non-WE theme I want
