so then what are you using to press and heat the lexan to stretch over the mold? Sorry i know i'm being a little dopey here but i've never seen one that wasn't like a hinged thing that swings over the box so i'm sort of intersted how it works.

Don't need to press it. I clamp mine down in a frame then set it in the oven, raised from the grates. Once the lexan has drooped a couple inches (less inches for smaller pieces) I remove the frame and sit it on top of the mold. The frame seals with the box and the vacuum pulls the air from under the lexan. Think of it like taking a t-shirt and draping it over a cup or something. The lexan will form to the mold as you lower the frame. When the frame contacts the seal, it is suck city :D
