I found another Peanut 09 "Wagen"

Post by j-sou »

I can't believe it, but I found another one. I've only seen 2 apart from the box art photos, and I own both now- this one and a NIB. It's in great shape for it's age. The body and chassis will both clean up well. I might try to back pour the body and vacform a couple more. It would be cool to use a repop'd body to build an "Eleck Peanut" version with the Wagen body!
I bought it with a couple of Cox Baja Bugs. I'm reselling the Cox cars (with a couple others I already had) to recoup some of the $. regardless, I would have paid the same price for just the Peanut Wagen. I should come out pretty well in the end.
I just need to find a clean period correct 09 engine for it...

Thanks guys! I'm stoked to have this in my collection. The only two known, but I might be the only person who gives a crap...
After looking at it a little closer, I see the engine area is trimmed a little higher than in the box art. :x sucks... correcting that to back pour a mold will not be fun. I'll have to leave extra material there, and then carefully shape it down to make the mold correct.
I could try to back pour the body from the NIB kit, but I hate to risk screwing it up. I'm very comfortable with many materials and processes, but would hate to risk damaging what is probably the last original unused version of that body on earth. :| Plus, these bodies are whatever weird plastic they used that predates lexan's appearance in the R/C industry.

No engine was included with this car, but all the correct kit specific bolt on parts are there. I'm not to "nitro" savvy, any idea what I should be looking for in a period correct 09 engine like would have been used in this??
