Re: Yokomo Works 'Hybrid'
Always nice to hear good things from you guys
Vin
littleVETTE, I have original Dukeomo chassis parts (chassis and battery tray) which I sent to Fibre-Lyte to be duplicated. I had them tweak a few things but it is essentially a straight copy. Kudos to Fibre-Lyte for their patience and great work.how did you end up duplicating the beckwith chassis parts?
The MIP universal drive shafts for the rear of the 1994 YZ10 (#1110) are the same length as the Works 91-93 front and rear drive shafts I then added MIP aluminium CVD Bones made for the rear of the Yokomo MX-4 (which are the same length as the Bones on the 1994 YZ10) to all 4 corners. Finally, I had the man Mr Cedric Devillers anodize these Bones a gunmetal grey.and i'm very interested in what MIP drive shaft fit with the YZ10
For the front bulkhead, yes. Good pick upis it o'ring placed as washers to fix the top deck , that appears on the (1st version) pictures ?

Re: Yokomo Works 'Hybrid'
I purchased the original Dukeomo car on eBay many years ago. The car came with most of the Dukeomo option parts from the era (chassis, battery tray, F & R towers, Derlin arms) but was well used. I sent the chassis and battery tray to Fibre-Lyte and they made me up a duplicate version (with some modifications requested by myself) from their twill weave carbon.
Ideally I would like to get a Yokomo Protech IV body painted up in the same colours as JD Beckwith. We will see.
I will try and post some photos of the new Iridium Finish parts which I will be using on the Hybrid V2.

Re: Yokomo Works 'Hybrid'
Aaron, I think DA Graphite can still supply sheets of carbon fibre with the Iridium finish. The finished parts are courtesy of Fibre-Lyte.So DA can still make parts with this finish?
I appreciate the comments guys. Yes, the Iridium finish is very unique and definitely adds a bling factor to the whole project. I know that JD Beckwith and Brian Kinwald (1993 IFMAR RC10) used this material on their cars and I think the only manufacturer to use it in kits was Alex Racing with their Barracuda R models.
I will try to keep this thread updated as best I can.

Re: Yokomo Works 'Hybrid'
Wasnt there a 1/8 gas car with this finish? SMP slide maybe, or was that a weave colour, not a flake? Anyhoo, looks trick as hell, cant wait to see this built!

Always worth revisiting this post from the "YOKOMO MAGIC MAN"
Re: Yokomo Works 'Hybrid'
Scrolling down the second page of this thread, I really, really didn't want it to end before pics of the final V2 build.
Hey Dual, where does it stand now on the road to it's second in-car-nation?
Cheers,
Tim
