I have an entire, virgin uncut sheet, srill in the packet.
I can scan it for you,if you want?
That sheet's gonna be used on my 2nd XX-4,so a scan is all I can offer.

So,I wound up buying that Heavy Metal body.
What a score,it's in fantastic condition and it looks like a pro painted it.
I was unpacking this when I thought 'where have I seen this paintjob, before'?

Wish I could find some white XX4 5 spoke rims at a reasonable price :(

Dang, that looks awesome! I've always liked the heavy metal bodies, what are you guys using to mount the body's, are they the original heavy metal body mounts or some home made solution?

Why don't you just stick some SCT Wheels on it. Although the proportions may be off in the other direction.

The current wheels look too small, SCTs might look too big.

Maybe Tamiya F-150 Baja style wheels would look right.

I've been goofing around lately with my xx4 truck setup and I noticed the other day that the front suspension has some major bump steer. I even dug out my manual to make sure I still had it assembled correctly. I haven't seen this mentioned before, but I may have missed it. Was this ever an issue and/or corrected in some way? Just curious.

Mine did too, you need to mount and steering rod on the underside.

I had wondered if it could be that simple. Thanks for the tip!

Hoping to get to these 2 bad machines this winter. One feels like a runner as is, but dirty. The other has rear diff almost locked up and feels pretty tight at gear mesh too. Got a heavy metal body and a rally weapon conversion with them too.

Wheeled mine around a track for the first time today. Learned alot about it. Found it was very responsive but has a balance issue with left being alot heavier with the stick pack on that side. winter projects. I did blow every belt today. I had car belt system apart 3 seperate times today, no easy task. Learned when I got home belt cover was allowing dirt in.

Before I rebuild my buggies using stock parts, is it a good idea to get the wide belt kit,, or the entire lipo brushless conversion for xx4 from Hong Kong?

Mine are both going to get lipo and brushless, but not going to be severely bashed either.

I don't know how well the wider side belt works, I would assume that the new XX-4 parts will be adaptable, so I kind of waiting for those before I do anymore conversions.

If you run a single pack you do have to counterweight the other side.

Well Ill start off with an apology for not representing VintageTLR very well this weekend at our local vintage meet. car started out driving like a dream, I then blew front belt. I wasnt beating on it but I wasnt driving a shelfer either. I replaced and carried on... Blew Mid belt about a pack later. replaced it, and noticed a fair amount of dirt inside belt channel, but with no way of blowing out and working off a table outside, I did my best. Remember saying to RC10eh " I dont think this is gonna last to long" did about 1.2 laps and the rear blew. Time to put it down and get out the xx. Which I think ran really strong.
I knew I would stir about the xx4 all winter so I decided to replace rear belt 1 more time and drive it like I owned it. Wow got some great video and cleared all the doubles, tables and the one triple. Boom rear belt again. BUT I went away happy. But running with Kyosho and Associated guys the reliability card was mentioned a few times  . New tough racing belts on order.
Time for winter tear down.

Oh and those green belts that are getting harder to find....there are 4 less in this world
