DTM Striker
I bought this sleigh some years ago, it came with unoriginal front suspension arms which did´nt fit that well. Allmost zero travel, it´s a TC I know, but still I would like to have at least 1/2" of travel.
I dug into the odd parts box and found a new set of OFNA/Graupner suspension arms which fitted quite well. Only problem was the rear hubs, they were to wide so I replaced them with a set of Lazer hubs.
This setup will not accept normal 1,9" TC rims, guess I´ll have to find another set of hubs.
The shock setup is a bit strange, it seem to use some quite long shocks (In TC terms).
It must be a leftover from the Tomy days.
Gotta love the pink plastic

Re: DTM Striker
I never heard of this model or brand. What's their relation to tomy?
(I know the Tomy stuff went into the X-press touring cars and M chassis)
Maybe you can make it a cool buggy. But it should be easy enough to find another rear carrier that accepts the 1.9" touring wheels.

Re: DTM Striker
The DTM Striker was a narrow version of the Xpress Striker, which was based on the Tomy Intruder.
It was one of the first narrow racing touring car chassis´ from the early 90s.
The differential covers still bears the Tomy name, allthough they´ve scratched it a bit.
Steering spindles and motor/transmission mount are made of magnesium.

Re: DTM Striker
Finally found a donor, so now it´s more or less complete with diff´s and correct suspension.
I recently bought a lot of new old misc. parts, and suddenly out of the blue, two pairs of tires from M1 showed up. divine uplight.... perhaps

Re: DTM Striker
The DTM Striker was the first narrow touring car produced by the Sun Sun Hobby Company, who had taken over the Tomy Intruder design. It was called the DTM Striker to differentiate it from the Striker TC which was the converted buggy version. Sun Sun sold their cars under their GTO brand. It is just called the DTM Striker to make it easy for importers to rebrand it, such as the M1 DTM Striker, Gm Racing DTM Striker, GTO DTM Striker, etc. The Xpress name came about with the totally new touring car design that we are more familiar with, Xpress was technically the name of the car, which was known around the world as the M1 Xpress, Roadrunner Xpress, GM Racing Xpress, Xpress GTO, etc. while it's proper designation was the GTO 968. They stuck with the Xpress chassis name, and as we aren't familiar with the manufacturers actual name the Xpress name has stuck for the company.Mr. ED wrote:I never heard of this model or brand. Re: DTM Striker
The T27 tyres aren't difficult to find, they were used for many years as a spec tyre in the UK for carpet racing. DMS Racing still has plenty of stock.DennisM wrote:Finally found a donor, so now it´s more or less complete with diff´s and correct suspension.
