Ho Hum - Another '95 Yokomo World Champion Special
Just another '95 Mark Pavidis World Champion Special ...
Oh wait, this one isn't brandy new like Asso_man's ...
It was originally owned and raced by factory team driver Rick Lund. No I don't recognize the name, but I bet there is someone on this board that does. Any help would be appreciated in finding more history on the car.
It's in real fine, as raced shape. All I need is a rear wing to complete it! There is a Kimbrough model at Tower that looks pretty close to the correct one, but a current Yoke one is close as well.
A bazillion thanks to Asso_man and Dual for providing technical information.
Upgraded motor mount and TCS
The front arms were further lightened from the factory model. Here's a comparison pic.
Then there's this extra body that was included ...
I believe it's the '91-'93 style with the smaller cooling scoop on the left side. Love that paint scheme ... looks familiar, huh?

Another WOW brian! The best used cars are ones owned by factory pilots
Not only are they always in great condition, but they seem to have all the tricked out parts as well

Old school racing all the way!

Thanks gents. I've really been lucky the last few weeks finding some real winners. More are out there ... you just have to use the info on this site, take some chances and look in "non traditional" places ... there is a world outside of Ebay!
Sorry, Tom, the bottom shell isn't available.

I haven't given up on a Yoke yet...but the 1/12th cars are coming in too cheap to pass on.
This one is pretty awesome though.

Re: Ho Hum - Another '95 Yokomo World Champion Special
just by luck I was able to locate Rick Lund and chat about the car's race history. Here it is ...
"i won so many races with it.... i know i won the oregon state championships with it, also the regional championships, the divisional championships, also won a worlds qualifier with it and a ton of local and big races. i dont remember the setup i used as it was quite a while ago , i think it was associated 45 wt front oil, with #2 pistons, back was 40wt with #2 pistons for smoother tracks or #1 for bumpy.
i know i also won the columbia cup, hank perry and gold cup in tacoma with it.
i also got a 3rd place at the motorman challange with it, and 2nd behind brian kinwald at the norrca nats with it. i am thinking it was in 95? could have been 96 cant remember for sure.
anyway it was a very good car for me.
i always ran the associated wing off the 2wd buggy. it had a better downforce then the yokomo one did, plus it looked cooler.
i ran a reedy 11x2 motor and reedy batteries as i was sponsered by reedy also, and i ran proline tires as i have ran for proline as well.... funny thing is i still race for both companies. haha
i bet that car would still win today. it was that good."

On a side note since it got mentioned... if ANY of you are ever in WA in May the Hank Perry race is one of the BEST races I've ever been to!
