Decked out bedroom

Post by vintage AE »

Some of you know that for work I live at various drilling rigs and often have ample time to work on cars or paint.

I just arrived yesterday on location and found that my room I'm sleeping in has a fold up second bed that turns I to a sweet work bench.

Often I have my own shack that has an office, kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. Every once in a while I get stuck working in a command center where all the managers work and then we all sleep in sleeper shacks, as in this case.

Anyway, here's my bedroom bench

These are pretty remote locations you go to aren't they? How do they set up internet? Is there cell service there or something? Just curious. Looks pretty sweet.

We use satellites for the Internet and TVs and a booster/repeater on top of the rigs to increase cell service. Many of us have person 3 watt boosters too. Cell service is usually pretty good, but there are always locations that are sketchy.

Oh and yes pretty remote sometimes. Right now the closest dealership is about 300kms away. Since I drive a Toyota, if something were to happen, I'd need to go probably 600kms to get my truck fixed.

Unless you get it planted in a river while exploring when you have some down time. It's all good, who needs airbags lol.

I have wrenches and ebay. My junk is all old and wore out though. Anything I have ever had with a warranty I never needed it.

I've never had to use my warranty either, but I have damaged things wheeling that weren't covered in the warranty. Wait a sec, nevermind, on my last trail run seen in the photo below, I bent my lower control arm and the dealer straightened it back for me. The was a ledge I just couldn't get over without a tug.

So many photos, but these few will do it. There are so many impressive toyotas in our club
