Got a big bag of peppers from the neighbor so I made up a few jars of hot sauce today. I'd ship some out, but fresh pepper sauce doesn't ship real well. I'll get some mash soon and send some out to some of my fellow connoisseurs. I was going to put
"It's like an orgasm in your mouth", but I was afraid it would lose some of it's appeal.

I did some searching on youtube a few years back on what peppers people grow and the best success for where I live etc etc. I am in Calgary, way better than anything east of me.

I came across a guy who is in/near Winnipeg, they have crap for summers, long cold winters and he does extremely well growing 20-30 diff kinds of hot peppers. He sent me some seeds and I am happy with what is growing.

I got a bag of this from a local bent-n-dent grocery store for $1.50 and it's honestly too hot to eat without mixing it with something else like bread crumbs or crackers. I'm actually making some chicken fingers right now coated with saltine crackers and some of this stuff.

I finally picked some of the purple jalapenos I am growing. No where near as hot as I hoped.

The bottom half of the pepper resembles a mix of a green jalapeno and a plum. The flavor is there, I might have let them ripen a few days to long.

Either way, for my first time growing this strain it is a success and flavorful. Next years crops will be better with 2nd generation seeds.

I didn't add enough of the spicy coating, but the chicken was great! No time for pics because I was too hungry after work. I've been using the saltine recipe for a few years and usually mix them with ground red pepper, garlic powder, hot pepper flakes, salt and ground black pepper. I'm going to try some spicy pretzel coated chicken one of these days.

With the Super Bowl this weekend I figured it was a good time to post this. These things are addictive. The only place that sells them here seems to be Dollar General. The bag looks small in the pic, but it's a decent size snack. Only $1 a bag too. They don't have much kick, but they have a great flavor and texture.

Herr's makes a good hot sauce potato chip too that I've enjoyed a few times.

Made this for our Gumbo Cook-Off Saturday. It turned out really well. Hot too.

I made some chicken nuggets tonight with a coating made from crushed saltines, Panko crumbs, cracked black pepper, cayenne pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder and the Lefty's spicy coating I posted earlier in this thread. I also made a few with crushed Lay's Cheesy Garlic Bread chips...they were actually pretty good.

Served them up with some hot and barbecue sauces.
