Question, I'm thinking drive shafts. Should I stick with the CVDs or convert to sliders? Might start making an appearance at Chipmunk Hill but looks like it would have to run EDM or LM. If I go the slider route, what Losi sliders am I looking for? Jrx2?

Some action shots.
B Main I turned 64 laps but it was pretty much an open track with just one other truck on the track. I played it save and coasted many laps. Sometimes often riding the topside. Still I impressed myself running a 64 lap while the leaders usually run 68 laps.

Bumped up to the A main where it didn't go so good. Had some issues running against one competitor and got tied up with another on at least two occasions. Finished 4th. But the truck is getting better. Top two trucks were Murfdog direct drives cars. The third place car is a Pemberton car and the rest are Havocs. Just a shame I have to put it all on the sidelines while I start getting my go karts prepped for this upcoming season.

Looks like a cool sport, and it's nice to see so many guys at the track. I did not know dirt track was still popular enough to have a dedicated indoor track, but now that I think about it, I bet there a few in the NE USA!

There are a few here in NY. Chipmunk Hill in Theresa, Victory RC in Fulton, the Bakery (can't remember location), etc. Some outdoor action at Wizards. There are more but I don't really race much these days. Just got back from Afghanistan and focusing on karts.

Somehow, that particular place has stuck around since 92ish...maybe? (Rent must be dirt cheap) the hobby-shop area is in.the basement...the track is in the sub-basement, Yup that's a basement lowered a third floor down! It's 12 minutes from where I grew up, and I think its been through 4 owners since I first ran there. Crazy little track (not as bad a Eagle1 in Watertown) small and fast, weird setup and driving style there.

I remember coming up to Watertown with the Lane family to represent A&S Hobbies. The track was on State St right next door to the flower shop. Was a super small track out back with a monster slot car track in the front. I ran into an old friend Randy Dumas that handed me a monster truck 2.2 tire. Like the actual ag style tire to put on the left rear to help the car turn. Then I was talked into running the novice class to sweep the competition. ROUGH NIGHT. TQ'd and the main was a derby. Cars were flying all over the place. Hated that track.

I had some great battles with Randy on Walts outdoor track. See him around anymore?

He's around. Fallen on some hard times and has sold off his stuff to the soldier I got into racing around here. He even picked up a Randy a car to run but I think Randy is just trying to survive.

So they run direct-drive and gearbox in the same class? That seems unfair. Get yourself an old direct-drive TrackMaster or JCAR tranny and show them what the old girl can do.
