Tell me about it. It's hard to get things done when you have a 2-year old. :D

Nobody builds monster trucks better than John Boyer. Even RC10 based monster trucks. Here you go:

I just did a google search for John Boyer, that truck always comes up. I wonder if he's still got it. I think it's at least 5 years old. Maybe more like 7 years old.

That's really cool. Was that thing ever in a magazine? If not, it should have.

i dunno how sticky important this is. if you want monster trucks go to clodtalk...

8)

i've always thought a crawler using 2 stealths as the gearboxes on little clod looking solid axles would be slick. just like the maxx conversions only smaller.

hello All,

Between work and being sick, I've managed to pretty much complete the RC10MT. I still need to get a few more gold shocks and attach the front nose tubes, but the pictures will pretty much give you an idea of the final look. The goal was:

1. Use only RC10 & RC10T parts
2. Minimal fabrication (front nose plate and front transmission brace)
3. Minimal alteration of stock parts (cut battery holder portion of the front bulkhead & cut front motor plate).

The concept was pretty easy...2 transmissions, tub chassis & RC10T suspension. I changed the original idea of "flattening" the stock nose plate and mounting the transmission & suspension components. I was having too many issues with the steering setup. in addition, the wheelbase was way too short for a Monster Truck.

If you notice, I chopped the front motor plate and placed the spur gear on the opposite side. By doing this, I can use normal rotation motors on the front gearbox. I decided to fabricate the transmission brace and connect (still have to do this) it to the front nose plate in order to stengthen the front end.

I'm still thinking of changing the front suspension. I had to use yz10 parts (yokomo was sort of related to associated back in the late 80's) for the steering and castor blocks. This is ok with the current wheels (modified clod wheel) but I want to run tmaxx wheels. I may use parts from the b44...not sure yet.
