What's that doing in there?
This happened to me today, and I thought it might make an interesting thread...
What bizarre / oddball / cool thing(s) have you found in a item lot you've gotten from Craig's, eBay, whatever...totally unrelated to what you purchased?
There are a few thrift stores near me, and I check them out once or twice a week - you never know what might come in. One of these is where I found my first T-Maxx (I know, I know, big surprise someone gave that to a thrift store)...I bought it for $40, cleaned it up and put on about $25 in new parts, then sold it for $200. They may not be the highest quality thing out there, but there are plenty of people willing to buy them.
Anyway, I went to this same thrift store today...no RC stuff, but I bought a box of Duplo blocks for my kids for $2. I did a quick dig through the box to make sure there wasn't anything small or sharp hiding in there, then gave the box to my son. A bit later, he comes over to me holding something, and says "dad, what's this?"
It was:
a 2011 silver bullion coin
Wow. I really thought they kinda went through this stuff before they put it on the shelf...no idea how I missed it. Paid for the trip, though!

Re: What's that doing in there?
I got a nice set of restaurant quality stainless serving utensils in a box of rc stuff from craigslist. Cleaned them up real good and use them all the time.
