Nice save! I didn't have issues with the vertical hinge pin but will keep this fix in mind.

Glad the thicker hex helped your steering clearance issues.

Thanks Lobo. The inner arm hinge pin was actually the problem. The front of the pin rubbed the rim. Moving the axle down brought the diameter of the rim closer to the hinge pin giving it more room.

bigmd, I will be running the Castle brushless system with a 5700kv motor. I have two SV2s, one SV3 (?) that Castle provided after I let the smoke out of another SV2. I'm not really sure if it's the SV3 as it came without any decal or paperwork.

Cool I'm looking at same on eBay ,110 shipped. I've had similar with an HPI truck a few yrs ago. Was HPI labeled castle stuff. Very fast.

Not a bad price. They shot up about 50% overnight when Chinese magnet suppliers of neodymium magnets realized they have the rare earth magnet market cornered. The SV2 jumped from $109 to $159 at the LHS a little more than a year ago.

I can't really complain about Castle. I have gotten used to the cogging which is not really an issue when running for fun. I only raced dirt oval and cogging was not really an issue as I rarely braked

If you are familiar with Castle you may want to check out the less expensive Castle branded Dynamite Fuze system. Many folks on the board are also happy with the Hobbywing systems.

Wow Chris! You really got that mess looking like a real car  ....Great job, man!!!!

It's been a while since I've been on here. Life has taken me in a different direction...This was a nice surprise, seeing what you've done to it. Very cool 8)

Thanks Russ! Good to hear from you!!! Hope you are doing well :D

Life has kept me busy too. I recently had to put down my best friend and loyal companion Albert after 16 years. Pretty tough on the wife and I. I have returned to my toys in solace.

I talked to some folks here in Tampa and understand Yupers' track is doing good. Let me know if you plan to run so we can get together again.

PMs sent....

I guess their offroad is the popular track there, but I don't care for it, and they were racing at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings....NOT gonna happen here, no matter what cars I have. I value my laziness too much.
The oval looks good, but every time I try to get some track time, they're either working it, or it needs work. Besides, they haven't settled on a schedule yet.

Thanks Lobo. I like the body too. I special ordered a manual black on black 2000 GT with all options deleted (except ac). I tried to delete the rear spoiler too but the Ford dealer said that was not possible. I asked the dealer to swap the rear truck lid for the LX trunk lid, not possible. I immediately removed the spoiler and plugged the holes with plastic interior buttons. A year later Ford introduced the "Bullitt" edition without the rear spoiler

I've been looking for that body. Anyone know where I can get a couple. I have a used one on my tc3, but hoping to get one for a DS as well.
I'm not like them, but I can pretend...
