When did the XXX buggy hit the market
Okay, question. I see that BK won the Roar Nats in '99 with the XXX, but was it released then, or still a prototype/pre-production?

On RCCA Sebtember 1999 issue XXX proto was on cover. On next issue October 1999 RCCA did a test drive with (close to?) production XXX car.

Re: When did the XXX buggy hit the market

That sucks, our local Vintage class is '99 and older. One guy is racing a XXX. We have been jabbing each other back and forth about it being legal, so that pretty much answers it. It is legal I suppose. Just doesnt seem right to race a XXX against Gold pans and the occasional XX series buggy.

Well the class should go by the facebook page vintage rc. I think the census is 20 years. Not discontinued.

I personally believe the XX is more than capable against a XXX provided you can keep the front end together in a wreck.

Re: When did the XXX buggy hit the market
I completely agree... when I first got my XXX I was somewhat disappointed, the XX was easy to drive compared with what had gone before & its more lively Associated rivals - the XXX was still easy to drive, but it just didn't feel a nimble as the XX!fredswain wrote:I personally believe the XX is more than capable against a XXX provided you can keep the front end together in a wreck.

Re: When did the XXX buggy hit the market
A longer term plan of mine is set up a XX to race with. But I do enjoy my gold pans & JRX2.

Re: When did the XXX buggy hit the market
This was along the lines of my gripe about the xx being allowed for use at the vintage nats. The cutoff is 94. The xx came out late 94 and was in production until what, 98?. How is that right?
