Some tuning options for racers and runners

Been thinking about this for a while, and finally spent some time in Pro/E designing them up. First is front arm mounts that will change the kickup from 30 degrees to 25 degrees (they also tilt the shock tower 5 degrees forward so it remains perpendicular to the arm pin).

The next is front caster blocks that are +5 degrees, so if you wanted 30 degrees of caster with 25 degrees of kickup you would use these along with the above 25 degree arm mounts. This would give the same kickup and caster commonly run on B5's on high traction surfaces. Running these with stock 30 degrees of kickup would give 35 degrees of caster.

The last one is just a duplicate of 6215 25 degree caster blocks (-5 degrees). Theses could just be a replacement for the hard to find 25 degree blocks. If you really wanted low caster you could run these with the 25 degree kickup arm mounts and end up with 20 degrees of caster.

I've ordered all these parts from Shapeways, I'll update this thread when they come in. I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel here, just take advantage of my CAD skills and the avalable technology to get some more tuning options readily avalable for racers and runners.

Next I may consider rear arm mounts with different amounts of antisquat and toe. I'm open to suggestions too for other projects.

A really good one that would have some buyers are caster shims for midget/ sprint cars. Since you already have the arm mount footprint it should take only few minutes. I couldn't tell you what angle though. They were originally made by cheetah.

I've been waiting for someone to 3d print the 25 degree c hubs. Hopefully they are strong enough on track!

Seems like they've been having good luck running the printed parts on the NIX91 cars, so i would hope to have similar results

That would be easy enough. Out of curiosity, why would you want that?

A really good one that would have some buyers are caster shims for midget/ sprint cars. Since you already have the arm mount footprint it should take only few minutes. I couldn't tell you what angle though. They were originally made by cheetah.

That's easy too, if someone just tells me the angle or angles they want.

I would like to try 0 degree rear mounts on my RC10 oval conversion but they are hard to find.

There may not be enough interest in them to be worth while for you to design them.

I have been doing some research and I think I can use 6360 1.5 degree mounts with reversed 6365

1.5 degree hub carriers ( left hand hub carrier on the right hand side, right hand hub carrier on the

left hand side) to give me the 0 degree toe in.

They would be very easy to design. I'll do it no problem. How much antisquat should they have?

I think the anti squat is the same as the 6360 1.5 degree rear arm mount, of coarse I can't find any

information at the moment.

Good looking 3d's. I've done similar parts
Remember to connect separate parts together with min. 2 sprues with min. 2mm thickness. Otherwise item will fail on Shapeways model check.

Re-release rear arm mounts #6360 have 3deg toe-in/side and 3deg anti-squat.

Thanks Niki. I put one .075" sprue between the parts, i guess I'll see if they fail or not. They passed the initial model checks.

I didn't realize the Re-re arm mounts ASC 6360 were 3 degrees toe in.

Are the Re-re rear hubs ASC 6365 1.5 degrees toe in?

If so the re-release Rc10 has 4.5 degrees toe in?

No wonder my Oval cars look like they have way too much rear toe in!

mk-zero, while at it. or NIKI was thinking, have acquired a few used stealth trans. one thing I notice. the spacers are never there, and guys want 20+ for the 4 spacers and end cover. was going to try and do them myself in 3d for shapeways. but you all can whip this stuff out faster and no the programs. I don't yet. (downloaded a free one from shapeways but no time to learn)

Unfortunately i dont have a stealth cap on hand to measure. If you want to send me one I'd be happy to measure it, then i could give you a free one from Shapeways (and send you yours back) for the trouble.
