Forget re-releases. 3D printing has made things far more fun!

3 gear mid-motor stealth that mounts on the stock bulkhead holes up front and the forward 6-gear trans holes in back. Then I'll design a bulkhead that picks up the rear 6-gear mounting holes and is at the correct distance from the trans.
I'll be designing a 4-gear version of this thing soon, same mounting. These options will allow someone to build a mid-motor car without having to Swiss-cheese the rear of their chassis, everything will bolt right into existing holes. Just have to cut the rear sides of the chassis down for motor clearance. It will look like it came that way 8)

Nice...I just need to get my mid-motor trans/arm mount idea mocked up and get some pics for you.

Maybe this weekend. Maybe not. Who knows.

I honestly don't think you want to integrate arm mounts into the trans case... arm mounts break, you don't want to swap out a whole trans case every time an arm mount breaks... just a thought

traxxas used that method in the hawk/bullet/radicator, and moved to divorced arm mounts shortly thereafter. keeping the separate also allows for tuning antisquat and toe. I broke my bullet trans case pretty easily.

If you put that up for sale, I'll order one. I want a vintage mid motor truck since I anticipate stadium truck coming back here with the new T5M.

Maybe not integrate them...just trim the lower trans case some to clear the pins.

Like I said...I need to mock it up and see what I can make work, as I'm not even sure my idea will fly.

Hi Hugger,

With a reproduction MIP type case can you get internal parts? or is it better to go for a cut down

stealth type case so you can use RC10/T out drives and bottom gear and a top shaft which are

readily available.

I am looking forward to seeing a 4wd RC10T.

Cheers, Dave. :)

I'll be happy to reverse engineer an MIP front trans case as soon as someone sends me one to borrow

In the mean time, I'm going to make a 2-gear front Stealth box. What I don't know though is what shaft and gear to use...

a hunk of 3/16" shaft and a pinion drilled out for 3/16" with the right tooth count and a couple of spacers would be what I use. I can make that stuff if need be.
