Re: Dave's Championship Edition Runner
Hi Guys,
I have had this CE buggy for 7 years now, when I got her I contacted the previous owner who had
bought her new, to ask if he had changed anything, he said no, no parts had been changed.
She looks to be a very early CE, she came from the original owner with the box, with end labels
fully printed with #6010 $225.00, Complete kit, Less Radio, Batteries and electronic speed controller.
She came with a Protech 2 body and .56 front shocks.
.56 front shocks I thought wide arm CE buggys came with .71 front shocks?
More pics, I love pics!
Cheers, Dave.

Re: Dave's Championship Edition Runner
quoted from Rod's 25 year thread...
The early CE had the 4 hole front shock tower, bottom load shocks (original type 0.56), A stamp chassis with no holes for Stealth transmission, original type wing and Cadillac gear cover. The mid generation had the new top loaded 0.71 shocks (one of the best updates) with gold aluminium caps, 6 hole front tower.....

Hi Gomachv,
Thank you for the information.
I thought I would like to try and find a nice 4 hole front tower for her.
Dave.

The 4 hole towers aren't the easiest part to find for some reason.DaveM wrote:Hi Jason,

Re: Dave's Championship Edition Runner
Hi Marlon,
You are right I have not been able to find a decent one, I have kept a look out on E-bay but saying
that I haven't searched recently.
Might be time to start the hunt again!
Or maybe stick with the 6 hole tower and look for some .71 front shocks?
Cheers, Dave.

Re: Dave's Championship Edition Runner
Well if you really want a 4 hole tower, but don't mind that its not correct, I think this would look great on your car:

Re: Dave's Championship Edition Runner
Hi Marlon,
Thank you for the link to the front tower, I am just not sure!
After a coffee and a think I might just keep searching for a 4 hole tower, but may search for some
.71 shock bodies.
Thank you, Dave.

Re: Dave's Championship Edition
Thank you, Don.
O.K Guys,
I thought my build had stalled, but my Postie thought I needed another part and nicely left it for me
today.
I take back all the bad things I had previously said about you Postie.
More Pics,
Cheers, Dave.

Hi Guys,
Just a pic of the gear cover side.
Hopefully the Postie will bring my hub bearings today!
Cheers, Dave.

Re: Dave's Championship Edition
Hi Guys,
My hub bearings finally turned up today, WooHoo, about time!
Only took a month.
I measured some of my shocks today, the difference between .56 and .71 shocks measuring just
the bodies not the threads or caps.
.56 = 22.5 mm.
.71 = 27.0mm.
Will post some pics soon!
Cheers, Dave.
