Scariest moment ever to me today as a parent

Post by mikea96 »

Got a call today from my daughter that my 6 year old son had just fallen off our second Story deck and was being taken to the ER. He landed right on his back and luckily after several test was found to be ok and just a little sore. Man it sure does make other hard things in your life seem really insignificant and not worth stressing over.

Lucky landing! Glad he's ok. How right you are. I remind my wife all the time that there are people with real problems in the world so we should be thankful.

They are like rubber when young. I have seen my son crash badly so many times racing MX. At age 13 he bailed on a 100 foot table top and walked away! I thought he was dead! You can't worry to much, It will kill you if you do! Kids will be kids! Think of all the stuff we did when we were young!

They are pretty resilient when young thankfully. At the playground a couple days ago, my little girl literally rolled ass over ankles down the metal steps of the big slide all the way from the top to the ground - about 15 feet. I about loaded my drawers, but she just got up, cried a little cuz it freaked her out a bit, and then she went right back up the thing a couple minutes later. They're tougher than they look!

He actually said to me he likes the ER better than the dentist! And I told him he's to young to be a stuntman.
