New Andys Build A&L Lethal Weapon
Just got back into the hobby a few months ago and started a new build. Started to acumilate parts and got an Andys chassis, arms, shock towers, bulkhead, hubs, and spindles. I was gonna use my A&L Lethal weapon belt drive transmission and bellcranks. I also have some vintage See's wheels. I think I am gonna de anodize some shocks and polish them up. Now all I need is an Andys body to fit.

Re: New Andys Build A&L Lethal Weapon
Its been a while but got a little progress done, but not much..lol. I decided to go the trailing arm route instead of the rear Andys arms, thought it would be a little cooler looking. I got the lethal weapon drive with power clutch done and installed and turns like butter, very smooth. Found a new Andys battery box and NIP A&L bellcranks with the flourescent yellow to match the transmission case. I ordered a bunch of JC Racing wheels from the UK and I am leaning on those wheels instead of the vintage SEE's wheels, just because they match the yellow parts, whatcha think? Nest to do is the shocks and suspension parts and searching for a body to fit the chassis.

Builds like these are way cooler than pictures of any modern cars where they are all just the same thing.

I had a little time yesterday and got the Lunsford turnbuckles installed with neon yellow RPM ball ends. Also got the front tires on and waiting for the rears to arrive.

Next on the list is to de anodize the front shocks and powdercoat the bodys black and powdercoat the springs neon yellow to match. I got the RPM Neon yellow spring clips and cups. I think I am gonna powdercoat the body and battery clips neon yellow as well. Will post pics when finished.

Re: New Andys Build A&L Lethal Weapon
Slowly but surely I got some more work done. Powdercoated the springs flourescent yellow and painted the shocks flat black for a good contrast and came out great! Still on a search for an original renegade Andys body to complete the build, cannot find one anywhere. I also have the wrong rear shock tower for the trailing arms, I am still looking for the correct one as well as a nip front bumper, the one I have is scuffed up a-lot.

beautiful job on the color coordination. Good luck on the body.
You might be able to talk to Andy himself on facebook to see if there is something special you can adorn this chassis with.

He re-issued the renegade body that fits that chassis. Hit him up on facebook.

You did a real great job!
I vote for a plain white body with darkened windows and fluo yellow and black decals.

Re: New Andys Build A&L Lethal Weapon
Thanks for all the great comments, and a special thanks to Jwscab and Scr8p for letting me know about Andy on Facebook. He called me and he is a very nice guy and is gonna send me a body. I told him to surprise me with a retro paint job with white black flourescent yellow and silver. Will post pictures when I get it in my hands, I cant wait!!
