Black, long nose plate

Post by TomEG »

Hi.
Can anyone help me with the facts about this?

I've started to "prepare" for the Ten4 4wd conversion, and I'm using a re re worlds car as a base. The WC comes with a triangular cut nose plate, and not the long and uncut version needed for this build. I have tried to get hold of a black uncut nose plate to use with the black WC chassis, but without any luck. I thought I had "nailed it" when I found one on eBay, but when I received the plate it was the cut WC version I already had, even if the pic showed a black and uncut version. So my question is: Does the black and uncut nose plate exist, and does anyone know where I might be able to find one? Associateds website only shows the uncut in gold, and not in black.

This is the plate I'm searching for:

Thanks for your time.

They were supposed to offer them in black when the classic kits came out. They made the black tubs but never the nose plate. They were all worlds style.

Thanks, scr8p.
That doesn't sound promising, at all :(

But to those of you with more experience with the old RC10 than me; did they come in black originally? I guess they did, and Kinwald etc. cut them to save weight?

Yes, they were originally sold in long and there should be a lot of them still out there

hold on, were there 2 different length nose plates?

I just thought you used the other set of holes to extend it out.

edit: nvm, I googled for images and saw what he was referring too.

I know I have a nip black nose plate but no clue which version it in a box somewhere.

Thanks pumpkinfish!

DMAT, If you find it and it's the uncut version, then let me know if you are ready to part with it 8)
