Glad to hear your truck runs well, it looks like a blast. Pretty clean install too.
Thank you! This one is qickly becoming my favorite runner. The balance seems perfect for the setup. Maybe geared a little too high but that's easily overcome with your trigger finger. Temps are right in line, but it is very cold here.
I'm surprised no one asked about the bullet connected ESC.
Ran it this weekend on a dirt track. The mid motor on loose soil does not hook up well. I need to loosen the diff too. Some tweaking will have it better suited for high traction tracks.
Even worse, I got heavy with the trigger finger and launched it onto its back. I quickly found out how strong 20 year old plastic is. The mint rear tower shattered. Luckily I have fiberglass and carbon fiber towers. But dang it that part isn't easily replaced.
those RTR towers weren't strong 20 years ago. I've got quite a few boxed up and put away that were new take-offs when I put the carbon fiber ones on. Also, something that I seen a few guys try out was to double up the graphite/carbon fiber ones and use longer mounting hardware. Unless you are just out pure bashing you'll never break another one.

Peace and professionlism.....Kabunga signing off!!!
That is a real good idea! Thank you I'll be on the look out for another fiberglass one or 2 CF ones.
I put on a fiberglass one I had and got it some new proline gladiators and AE wheels with solid axle pins. Also dug up an old body and re-stickered it, then rebuilt the shocks. Maybe this weekend I can test it out again.
Drove this for a few hours today. It is simply amazing how much different this mid motor handles and jumps from a 10T rear motor. Completely different animals. If you let off the throttle on the mid motor it nose dives. You can launch it, but it really loves to jump low and level.
Anyone know if a GT body could be using or has anyone tried it on a T5M?
I have a Tub style GT (as well as the previous non RTR version of the GT) and I too was curious about an E conversion. Is that the RCMonster conversion or which one did you go with?
I did not use a kit for my conversion. I used 3M molding adhesive lol! I cant think of what a "kit" would include. A motor plate? Electronics? The motor adapter you can make from just about anything.
Here is a raw aluminum tub GT-e with a T-4 motor plate. All you need is a drill with some drill bits. The GT1's transmission is actually very simple to convert THE FIRST HOLE LINES UP! Just attach the first screw, mark the next hole, drill it, waste 2 screws piloting those new holes, get 3 longer screws, over bore the center hole for GT1 clutch OR: get a T4 top shaft and convert to a new dual slipper/V2/VTS....done.
Got this FT blue chassis setup for clay finally. Spent the weekend dialing it. Installed some Integy SC10b/t4.2 remote res shocks with 32.5 associated oil in them. Front tires used to be 4 ribs, rears used to be bowties. Moved the batteries back. This car is so much fun. Gearing is 11/64.
I would like to build one of these one day. I have half the parts but our dollar is poor and shipping is astronomical at the moment. GT's also seem to be fetching reasonable dollars at the moment.
Not sure if this will help with the body question or not. But I did fit a t5m one of my blue flat chassis GTs and of course after cutting the area out for the head to come through the body it worked really well. Don't have any pics of it to post but when I get some I will. Hope it helps
Ok I’ve finally gotten myself a GT, out of the many vehicles I’ve had and still have from over the years for some reason I just never bought one. So of course my first question is what did I get ? Would you consider this to be a black tub truck, or...

Well LTO Dave's post got me thinkin' (the neighbors called the fire department when they smelled the smoke  ). Which technology would you choose if you could only choose one? Brushless or Lipo? Feel free to explain why.

Has it been 7 days already?? Polls close soon. Any final thoughts? The Gil Losi Jr. fire certainly sheds a different light on the debate. Doesn't change my opinion, but it does make you doublecheck your regular precautions.
Done did it again guys. Went and bought me a gold pan buggy. Now I just need to know what to do. Here is the only picture I have its the little blue one all the rest still for sale.

I am reviving my RC10T from the 90s. It has not been touched in 25 years and was running a 12turn brushed motor with a Novak Duster ESC and NiMh/NiCad batteries. I am using a Futaba Magnum FM transmitter and receiver. I order of desire I...
