Parts ID - Losi Shock Kit

Post by MikeyD »

This Losi shock kit came with an RC10 parts lot i got off the bay.

Unfortunately, the bag was torn open, and clearly some parts are missing.

No, the missing parts aren't in the bottom of the box. :(

Can anyone tell me what Losi Kit these are for?

Thanks in advance!

They look a lot like the JRX2 shocks in shodog's post, but i want to be sure.

If I had to guess, I would say junior 2 or junior T. Looks like a .6" body, and a .9" body shock. Original cartridges, so they are from an older car.

Most likely correct. the junior had the darker grey shock bodies. I will check with my nip junior-T kit to check the shock bag letter. I don't have any other NIP kits, but IIRC, the tags on the x-2 were pink with a jrx-2 logo.
The shock collars are the older skinny ones which are harder to find, good bonus score there.

My guess is that those are from a jrx2 kit. You'll need the following:

1 shock cartridge: A-5006
1 spring collars (old style thin...not thick): A-5010
2 lower shock mounts for 5 link suspension: A-5010 (included with the item above)
1 long shock shaft: A-5005
2 short shock shafts: A-5004
8 e-clips (standard size)
2 4-40 x 3/8 socket head screws (for the shock collars)

hope this helps,

regards,
highwayracer

Looks like the lower spring retainers might be early ones as well. I have noticed that the later ones have three tooling marks in the bottom surface that are 120 degrees from one another (form a triangle). The older ones are smooth and have a glossier finidh to them. If you would like to trade those earlier lower and upper spring retainers and for a set of wide later ones, just let me know. I could also throw in all the parts you need to make a complete set.

the newer ones have the 3 marks on the outside flat surface, the older ones have the marks on the inside of the cup.
