Alternative body for Bandit idea. Thoughts request...
Re: Alternative body for Bandit idea. Thoughts request...
I like both, but I usually like hot rods more than I do custom VWs.
The off-road hot rod concept just doesn't do it for me... Mmmmm... I don't know, I'll look around for 1/10 scale 32-34 Ford bodies and see what I can do with them
If it all fails, I could put one on my Tamiya TL01

I'm about to try this Ordered the body after a couple of years of thinking about it
So yeah, here it goes... As the parts arrive I'll work on this and post the results.
The aim is to have a very low version of a Sand Scorcher with the paint scheme to match, I'll do this to my Bandit rather than Losi 22 as I enjoy driving the Bandit more.

Try if you can lay down the shocks upfront somehow or somewhat. It looks way cooler if they fit under the hood.

I don't want to mess around with the suspension too much, it drives well as it is. Shocks are like this right now.

Thanks for the inspiration, that's very cool!
I'm planning to race the Bandit like I did a couple of years ago, only for fun Best I've ever managed is a 3rd place trophy and I'm so out of practise that I'm not worried about doing well. Just driving

Looks mean. And with a name like bandit, it should.
Which wheels are you using in these pics?

Thanks I love how it ended up!!!!!
Wheels are from Team C, they are many years old and have been boiled many many times

They need re-drilling to work on the Bandit's thicker axles, but that's a super easy job. The Traxxas wheels don't fit Schumacher race tyres properly, which is why I ended up using race wheels.
PS: Absima and Team C are basically the same thing.. I think the Team C brand died though, but those Absima wheels are the equivalents now. Same cars, different brand.
