Spot on, this is why you see real car's of the 1980's and even 90's starting to hit their stride. While I can appreciate a 1969 Mustang, it has no emotional connection to me like it did my dad. But a 1989 5.0, yes please. Same thing for RC cars, I enjoy new builds but they actually are truly utilitarian and disposable to me, no emotion like a 1990 car to me.
Will kids today view current cars as collectors one day, I tend to think not as we live in more and more of a throw away society with no apprecation for the past. Or at a minimum they will be collecting old I phones, vehicles of all types seem to matter less and less.
