I have a sealed mint Fantom EXT CRC II body, (part no. EF-97 so bagged/sealed and even back in the 80s has outer protective film) so it's hard work, but can be done.

I have a Fantom in excellent condition that I am dying to run...but I need an essential part that I am having a really tough time finding. It is the KYOC3760 EF-009 (front-sprocket). If anyone has any info on where I might be able to find this, or if you're hoarding some parts for this beauty and want to sell...please let me know!

Did the OP ever run this beauty? I know this is an ancient thread, but I fished my unfinished Fantom project out of the closet yesterday so my interest has been renewed. I have one NIB version that I may build one day to display, and another that's nearly ready to run...the chain system is binding because I still need that sprocket but I haven't looked around in a while...

Interesting idea...I have virtually zero experience with 3D printing, and wouldn't really know where to start. Is there any particular site or company you'd recommend reaching out to first?

I've been zipping around with my 'modern' Kyosho Plazma RA lately & heard there's an actual 1/12 track nearby that's just been freshly paved, so I feel the 1/12 bug nipping at me more and more these days. Out of my whole collection though, the Fantom is the one I'm really anxious to start running. Unlike their off-road buggies, I don't see Kyosho ever considering a re-release of any of their old 1/12 pan-cars, so parts like this aren't going to get any easier to find. A solid 3D printing resource could really make a difference & alleviate some of that worry about one stupid little part sidelining the car for years waiting for someone to post one on eBay.

By the way, I was just admiring this example from 'Pink RC'; definitely the most meticulous restoration I've seen for this car. My Japanese is a bit rusty so following the details is a little rough, but anyone interested in this car will enjoy his pics & the video below where he's actually running the thing:

first step = finding an original. (Can be worn or broken)
next step = make a model (I'm willing to help you out here)

I've got an original that's in new condition - I'll reach out after the holidays; who knows, maybe there's enough interest to make it a worthwhile endeavor...sell a few at a reasonable price, help out some fellow enthusiasts, and recoup whatever it costs to produce at least. Thanks!

Sorry I missed this reply... I did manage to find one at some point, but also came across this metal version for the re-release...pretty sure it's a bolt-on direct replacement for the original...though I don't know if I'll get a chance to confirm that first-hand before 2029 when my back-ordered new Fantom actually ships

the fantom EXT came with the crc II body or BW spider and both of them are soooo goood loooking compared to the stock body
