He rebuilds the gold shock and then hands it to her. She seems to enjoy it.

This Is great! I remember a post about this long ago and occasionally wondered what ever happened with the movie. 
I just went to the Amazon to purchase a copy but all I see are down loadable versions with either a rent or buy option. Any actual discs available for purchase?

Absolutely. I play them on my BluRay player which sits directly above my VCR.
