Shining Star SSC 10 Build
Let's get the party started on this one
I got the chassis kit, really nice pieces. It comes with some hex hardware for the rear arm mounts, bulkhead, and other places. I've given the nose plate braces a quick polish and installed a few of the parts from my stash to see how it looks.
Some parts I had on hand...
Motor Plate
3/16" CVA's
Factory Works black button head washers
Factory Works shock towers and trans. brace
I ordered the chassis kit and the Factory Works parts the same day. Can you guess which arrived first?

Re: Shining Star SSC 10 Build
Neat! So what's the grand scheme for this build. A straight-up RC10 with the exception being the chassis plate? Is this going to be a runner? Nice thing about a flat chassis is that it's self-cleaning; my tub cars tend to fill with dirt over the course of a 10 minute run.

Not sure of a scheme other than some horsepower.

Re: Shining Star SSC 10 Build
I've added all the parts that I had on hand to the chassis kit. I'm still short (on order) the 1" turnbuckle that connects the two bell cranks and turnbuckles for the rear camber. I need to make a few parts when I get some time and a few tools/materials back in stock.
The aluminum rear bumper does require some tweaking, still need to do that.
I need some more parts... short funds.

"... short funds." Welcome to my world. I've already blown my RC budget for this year.
Anyway, looks great so far Nomad. When it's finished, I'll be keen to read your feedback on how that chassis performs.

Re: Shining Star SSC 10 Build
I agree
What's the background on that chassis? Is that some kind of a resto-mod parts maker? Or is it original 30y.o. vintage stuff? I don't know SSC... I thought it was some kind of Short Course Cack stuff again
seriously - looking good but what's the deal?
Thanks!
Paul

Yep, he's on ebay. Great guy to do business with. I have one of his slash 4x4 chassis.

Re: Shining Star SSC 10 Build
Heres his website...
https://www.teamsscrc.com/
I fully agree that the "regular person" parts of facebook are pretty stupid. Politics, news, misc drama, etc are things I try to stay away from.... but I figured out its pretty easy to not see that and just use it for easy access to a lot of cool RC stuff. And if facebook wants to invade my privacy and see what RC cars I have, hopefully they can help me ID a few things.
