Rear Sway Bar Question
In looking at numerous car pics here, I noticed that none of them have rear sway bars. Even the box art buggies didn't seem to have any. Is there a reason for this? I looked at my own car and there doesn't seem to be a factory location in the rear arm to install a ball stud - on the original car did you have to drill a hole? I read my original instructions and there doesn't seem to be any info on this.
I'd like to put a rear sway bar on my runner and I bought a B4 rear sway bar kit and I think it can be easily made to work but I'm scared to drill holes in the rear RPM arms before I ask you guys for help with pics and your own experiences!

Re: Rear Sway Bar Question
With original arms a hole needed to be drilled in the rear portion of the arm, at least with this sway bar set up which was made by Parma I think.
If things seem under control, you are just not going fast enough.

Re: Rear Sway Bar Question
I'm running a rear sway bar. I had to drill a hole in my rpm rear arms to mount them. I started with the B4 rear sway bar kit for the bar ends and links but ended up bending a new bar from .055" piano wire. I've been playing around with many different suspensions from the rpm world's front and rear setups to a custom front that I built from JRX-Pro SE arms, a modified RC10T front bulkhead and B4 steering blocks. No matter what the setup due to the rear motor nature of the car I have found that it really needs the added rear roll stiffness. I never see a need for a front bar though.

Re: Rear Sway Bar Question
the plastic pieces shown in the pic are available in the airplane section of hobby shops, dubro etc. just bend your own wire.
I was digging around for any OG rc10 stuff and found one of those kits in the bag. Along with 2 front ones never built.

Re: Rear Sway Bar Question
Funny I was just test fitting the rear sway last night and it would be a perfect fit...on one side. On the engine cover side, the bar would bump the newer engine cover side.

Re: Classic RC 10 Rear Sway Bar Question
I'm looking for a rear sway bar for sale or the measurements to bend one. I found .047 steel wire at Lowe's is about the closest to .055" I can find. But the actual measurements for the wire bend and the ball joint placements I haven't found.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
The Alarm

Re: Rear Sway Bar Question
Built this rear sway bar when I got my original RC10.
Not really sure what I used for a template or if I used anything for a template.
The inner bends started at the outer ends of the bulkhead.
I had the sway bar parallel to the ground and the links were perpendicular to the rear of the arms.
Took it of when I started racing as no one else seemed to use either front or rear sway bars.
It will probably wind up on one of my future shelf builds.
