Hello from Australia

Post by mirrorman »

Hello, just joined from Australia.

Thought I'd let you know a little more about me, and my very short 8 years in this hobby. Well - I did miss out on the last 3 or so years though for different reasons, so maybe we should cut that down to 5 years with this RC hobby. :)

I was already in my late teens when the popular Tamiya Hornet hit the scene, and with no one in my social group interested in RCs I unfortunately don't have that nostalgia felling about running RCs in my youth, like many here would have experienced.

Lets jump from the late 1970s to around 2012, and while following a lead on bunch of vintage Tamiya slot car parts I accidently land on a stash of vintage Tamiya RC parts . Then GOOGLE shows me what Tamiya made in RC buggy during the period I missed out on , and that Tamiya had re-release alot of their older RC buggys. Now I have a smattering of Tamiya kits and built-ups , as some AYK RC stuff .. and now looking to get some of those nice Kyosho re-release kits.

I Iook forward to learning a lot from the members here.

Thanks for the welcome mate.
Hope I can learn things about my vintage AYK and spares I have . I also have some old motors that I know little about, so info on them would be good too.
