just clean the body....spray aerasol window cleaner down, apply decal, rub gently with micro fiber from middle out, apply light heat with hair dryer... all good

Trey,
I've got my paint but haven't decided on the design yet. Definitely not doing boxart for this one.

Thanks for the tips I’ve tried that in certain shapes before with varied results over the years lol I’ve used a more diluted soap mixture on larger vinyl without issues. I guess the small stuff just intimidated me a bit. The decals are nice though and being precut would help too.
Gotcha. Yeah I think it needs a little more than white myself. I’m going to the hobby shop after work for some supplies, so we’ll see what I come up with!

Picked up some supplies and painted her up. I am really horrible though, I’m 46, been in this hobby since I was 12, painted probably a 100 bodies over the years and I still rush through every one It looks pretty good though, I buggered up the windshield line a bit but I think I can fix that with a sharpie when I detail it. And I got myself a run and a bleed through spot all thanks to my speed paint process, but the colors look good together, fairly retro I think. I’ll paint the driver and do some decals tomorrow afternoon and see what I’ve created

I think it turned out great! What a nice looking car! This and the Plazma are some of my favorite Kyosho's.

Thanks a bunch!GeneralZod wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 3:00 am I think it turned out great! What a nice looking car! This and the Plazma are some of my favorite Kyosho's.
I agree, maybe it was because my first introduction to hobby rc cars was seeing the local 1/12 cars racing, or I still go back to seeing them in those mid 80s Tower Hobbies books. Since Kyosho had those color, big description, ftont section advertisements, you couldn’t help to be drawn to those cars!
I’m still keeping my eye out for a Plazma too

Thanks Chris! I’m liking it as well!
Good news about the motor, do you have the 240s controller pre ordered somewhere? Am I right thinking they have had them on eBay some over the last few months? I feel like when I did my regular searches for Le Mans Motors the 240s controller would pop up too.

I've got the 240S speed control here already. I was lucky as I bought it for $104 Australian dollars from a Hong Kong eBay seller when they had three left. There's some listed now from the US for horrendous prices.

Gotcha.
The high priced reselling with these items gets silly. Perfect example, when I saw KOA selling a few of the Fantom kits for $219 shipped on eBay then a day after they were gone, nib kits popped up for $350-400 lol Free market I guess, but still crazy. I guess I got lucky finding mine on eBay selling for $219 still.

Attempted to tidy it up a bit with some alternate cable management. Discovered that running everything under the battery however clean it looks, would never work functionally racing as it tweaks the upper plate a bit. Being that the upper plate is an integral part of the “suspension” would likely deaden the handling a bit. That being said, for show the cables look good tucked away!
I’ve been digging through the web for all things Fantom and as I remembered, stickering up the chassis some was popular, and in my mind is necessary
So here’s my attempt at 1980ing it up a bit!
