Nikko F10 Rhino - Seeking Assistance
Hello All,
I was given this Nikko F10 Rhino in 1987, one outing a rear suspension was broken (I was a small child) and never repaired, put into storage only for me to dig it out a few days ago.
I have a 4 year old son now and I've love to see him play with it for sentimental reasons.
- I have no idea where the transmitter is, battery, box or chargers so I assume it is straight forward enough to replace the entire electronics system for new?
- Needs all new tyres - believe wheels and tyres from a Tamiya Hornet could fit?
- Need the rear shock, one is broken. My first thoughts, I can 3D print a replica of my undamaged one? Any potential off the shelf replacements?
- Not worried about cost, happy to order spares from anywhere globally
Looking forward to any replies.
All the best.
Lee

Rebuilding it will be expensive if you use original parts; The best place to find parts is eBay.
In France and Italy there are collectors who sell parts too (look for it as Rhino / Bison / Thunderbolt).

Converting the buggy to hobby grade is cheaper and will drive better.
* Rhino electronics are compatible with 27Mhz hobby grade transmitter. Clean the electronics with window cleaner. If it doesn't work, you can buy a transmitter / receiver (27Mhz or 2.4Ghz), Esc (speed controller) and 3 wires servo.
* Hornet tires fit with a little effort.

* You can also use the whole Tamiya Hornet wheels

Re: Nikko F10 Rhino - Seeking Assistance
Just coming back to post final photo and say Thanks.
Full hobby grade now, 3 wire servo with tamiya esc and 3ch radio system. Kept the standard RS540 but upgraded all the bushes to tamiya 1050 bearings and also added the Hornet wheels and tyres.
Very happy to see it running after 30+ years.

Nice job restoring that car. Man, that is some bumper.
That bumper is so big, it looks like it almost protects the rear too!
