I have an original Optima Mid I got from my uncle about 20yrs ago. It was already built when he gave it to me while cleaning out his garage, but never had a radio system until I installed it recently. So has never run until about 3wks ago! Anyhow, it didn't take long but one contact on the speed control horn has worn through, making it undriveable. I'm wondering if anyone would known where I could find a replacement part? I've already contacted Kyosho and they told me what I assumed, 'parts are discontinued'. Seams to be made of a fibre reinforced composite. Reminds me of circuitboard material. I could make one if I had the right material. I'm going to repair this one for now with a structural adhesive (I work in autobody) until I figure out a replacement solution.
Sorry it's long winded, any thoughts/ideas/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: Original Optima Mid parts
Usually we use electronic speed controls these days, as the mechanical ones tend to wear out (as you've noticed). Considering a cheap brushed ESC such as the basic Tamiya ones can be found for as little as 20-30 bucks, why bother tracking down a mechanical speed control part that has no value at all for most people?
