I like my diffs a little tighter than normal. It might not corner quite as well but it will be easier on the ( hard to find and kinda expensive) diff parts.
To tighten the diff this would be the thrust bearing, correct?

Hi all,

Wrapping up my refresh of the Goldpan. I did wonder about gearing recommendations. It’s a Stealth car, and I’ll be running a Trinity Midnight in it. I have a 16t 48p pinion. Any thoughts on the spur?

In what manner do you intend on driving it? Cruising around/light "bashing" or racing?
Hope you're doin' something fun.

Cruising and light bashing - not racing this one.

Any thoughts if I’m running the 16t pinion?

A 16 is too small for a stock motor.
Good point - no idea why the guy at the hobby shop insisted on a 16t! I’ll order a 20t for my 27 turn motor and an 81t spur. Both 48 pitch.

If your car had a 6 gear transmission, that'd be pretty close.

Let's be honest, most hobby shop people know (or at least remember) very little about RC10's. That's not where their money is.

Got the Goldpan rebuild done for my brother’s 40th. Fun project! I always have difficulty uploading pics on this forum (iPhone user…), but I was happy with how it turned out for a basher.

On to rebuilding my old Stadium Blitzer for the 6 yo boy…

Speaking of the stadium Blitzer, looks like the materials are all plastics. No need to rehydrate as with the nylon on a team associated vintage car, right?

I soak Tamiya plastics in cold water anyways.
